There have been many advances in the treatment of this condition, which aim to improve the patient’s quality of life.1 Although there is no cure for BPH, but there are many useful options for treating the problem. Treatment focuses on prostate growth, which is the cause of BPH symptoms. Once prostate growth starts, it often continues unless treatment starts. The prostate grows in two different ways-in one type of growth, cell multiply around the urethra and squeeze it whereas in the second type of growth is middle lobe prostate growth in which cell grow into the urethra and the bladder outlet area. This type of prostate growth typically requires surgery. The first line of care for treating BPH is often medication.2 Efficacy of Vasti therapy an Ayurvedic therapeutic procedure was studied in 75 patients of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). The treatment was given for 21 days, an...

It often recurs after best of surgery usually because of infection that was missed at surgery. Preoperative imaging can help identification of infection that would have otherwise gone unidentified. In particular, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings have been claimed to influence surgery and markedly diminish the chance of recurrence according to recent reports. But in countries like India, this is not possible for majority of patients to afford MRI because of cost effectiveness and non-availability of MRI facility at common centers. Therefore, still fistulography is commonly used for preoperative imaging of fistula-in-ano. In the present work, fistula-in-ano and its imaging techniques are described, with an emphasis on fistulography by Deshpande technique.

Presently available advanced wound care products for dressing are beyond the reach of the majority Indian population, and they also do not completely fulfil the required benefits of therapeutic value. The dermal patch technology is the best-known and widely used approach for delivering drugs. It has been proven to be the fastest, easiest, safest and most economical way for drug delivery. The use of biodegradable polymers in wound management has been brought into prominence with new innovations in drug delivery system. Thus with a new dimension for the use of polymeric materials in or as wound healing, drug delivery devices involves incorporation of biodegradability into the drug delivery system. A number of degradable polymers are potentially useful for drug delivery including a variety of synthetic and natural substances such as Poly Lactic acid, Poly Crypolactone, Chitosen etc. Among all these Poly (lactic acid) (PLA) is...

ABL has been characterized using vertical profiles of meteorological parameter. The gradient of virtual potential temperature (θ v) profile for the determination of mixed layer heights (MLH) and the mean value of turbulent flow depth (TFD) obtained from the vertical profile of Bulk Richardson Number (R iB) have been used in this study. Oneyear data have been used for the study. There is large seasonal variability in MLH with a peak in the summer and winter whereas the TFD remained steady throughout the year. Results from the present study indicate that the magnitudes of TFD are often larger than the MLH.
