T... more Multiple diverticulosis of duodenum and jejunum are very uncommon pathology of the small bowel. The disease is usually asymptomatic and in some cases present with unexplained malbsorption, anemia, chronic abdominal pain or discomfort. Complications such as diverticulitis, perforation, bleeding or intestinal obstruction appear in 10-30% of the patients and increasing morbidity and mortality rates. We herein report a case of a 72 year-old man which presented with vomiting, intermittent upper abdominal pain, distension and obstipation since nine days before admission. Preoperative radiologic and an abdominal computed tomography scan examination revealed multiple air fluid in the abdominal cavity and bilateral polycystic kidney. An emergency laparotomy was carried out which revealed multiple duodenum and jejunal diverticula, one of jejunal diverticula had been perforated and causing peritonitis.
