There are many approaches in teaching history subject in school, but which approach will be used ... more There are many approaches in teaching history subject in school, but which approach will be used in developing patriotism values among students. In this research, teachers act as learning managers should make systematic planning first. Such planning should be processed when writing daily lesson plans by recording strategies of various approaches. The strategies used should be appropriate to the topic to be taught and not limited to a single strategy in a teaching session. The application of the strategies that have been determined needs to be comprehensive and integrated by implementing knowledge, skills and values at once. The flexible, creative, innovative and able to strengthen the teaching and learning of teachers is the backbone of the effectiveness of this diversity approach. The ability of teachers knowing the strategies, approaches, methods and techniques in teaching patriotism values is in questions. Past events that contained in history subject can be modeled for the future generations. This paper compares the History Education curriculum in Malaysia and Indonesia. The aspects discussed including the goals of education, scope of teaching and pedagogical value in History Education subjects in Malaysia and Indonesia. Based on the structure of History curriculum in Malaysia and Indonesia, teachers are supposed to be able to carry out teaching in an innovative and systematic way. Comparison of History Education in this paper enables us to see effectiveness and improve of teaching in both countries. In this paper, review on previous studies from the two countries have been conducted. It can be concluded that the enhancement of History education in both countries – Malaysia and Indonesia are more likely to focus on the values of History subjects such as self-affirmation, ...
ABSTRACT: History subjects require the application of methods that can stimulate interest and can... more ABSTRACT: History subjects require the application of methods that can stimulate interest and can motivate students in following the teaching and learning of history without feeling bored, especially in the topic of 13 May 1969’s events in Malaysia, which requires interpretation and rationalization of the causes and consequences of the events. Using the qualitative approach and method as well as literature study, this paper showed that t he use of blended learning in teaching and learning for this topic is seen as an effective method in shaping the ability to think creatively and imagination, while achieving understanding to students. Based on blended learning, the integration of face-to-face and virtual learning elements makes this learning holistically inclusive. Such a learning process can transform traditional methods to the latest learning methods in line with 21 st century learning optimally. History education is always been a problem to the student. Most of them think that history is bor... more History education is always been a problem to the student. Most of them think that history is boring subject. Overall, history is not a favorite subject among the students because there are too many facts to remember and some of them could not even understand the terms used in the history subject. Other than that, the students also fail to answer the general knowledge and critical thinking questions. The scholar makes a lot of research regarding the issue and problems and able to construct theories for history education. This paper is discussing about constructivism approach to increase the knowledge and appreciation in history among secondary students. By using the constructivist approach , it will able to help the students to learn history much better and the teacher could transform their way of teaching to make the lesson more interesting and fun.
Covid-19 outbreak had forced the school to be closed and the teaching need to be carried out thro... more Covid-19 outbreak had forced the school to be closed and the teaching need to be carried out through ICT application. The readiness of the teacher to teach Historical Thinking Skills (HTS) elements embedded into the material and aids for online learning is questionable. The reinforcement is required if the HTS teaching and learning among the history teacher does not achieved the target objective by using online application during Covid-19 outbreak. Society 50 is the society that can link the ICT and reality world. Currently, the society is considered as Society 5.0 among the world. However, a further investigation is required in order to ensure that all teachers can be considered as Society 5.0. The focus is among the history teacher in Selangor that teach form 4. The population 975 history teachers in Selangor that teach form 4, while the sampling was 275 teachers been selected. At this point we often hear the difficulty of university students get jobs. Job opportunities tha... more At this point we often hear the difficulty of university students get jobs. Job opportunities that have too much competition. In other words, after learning to be at the secondary school level and university, it seems that the students are less executable and can not create a job opportunity that can provide lucrative income. Employers in jobs rarely employ local university products, or secondary school students with SPM and STPM certificates. The employer prefers to employ graduates from overseas universities. Why this happens, of course, because the field and approval are the same. Surely there is something to see what is necessary for school students and local universities that need to be given a major focus by educators. Areas that need to be noted are soft skills or soft skill. How we need to implement this Soft Skills to students especially historical students.
