This article aims to identify the factors that could develop the local impact investment market in Sri Lanka as a tool for funding social enterprises. Design/methodology/approach: The methods of research are an analysis of scientific literature, experts' interviews, and generalization. Findings: In order to accelerate the impact investment as a tool of funding, the impact investors, social enterprises, government and society must work collectively. Necessary social, cultural, and policy changes should be carried out, and specific recommendations have been made accordingly. Originality/value: This research study is essential in terms of sustaining and promoting impact investments in Sri Lanka as a tool of funding social enterprises and developing the ecosystem.

WISEs devote most of their time and resources to working with the target group-not only organizin... more WISEs devote most of their time and resources to working with the target group-not only organizing their employment activities and developing skills, but also adapting their work environment, improving the psychological climate, organizational culture, etc. Thus, the implementation of the social mission of this type of social enterprise requires a particularly large amount of time and other resources. In addition, they have to take care of the financial sustainability of their organization. However, WISEs as all social enterprises face the pressure from the society and other stakeholders to measure their social impact. Nevertheless, it is also important to note that scientists still disagree on the definition of social impact. It is noteworthy that there are no common criteria for measuring social impacts and there are many different methods and tools for impact assessment and measurement (Arena et al. al., 2015; Hadad and Găucă, 2014). Thus, it remains unclear what and how WISEs should measure their social impact. However, it can be argued that social impact measurement it's very important for the WISE itself. The aim of this article-to identify what and how WISEs should measure their social impact in the organization. The methods of the research are an analysis of scientific literature and experts' interview. The results of the research disclosed the possible measurement framework and indicators.

The concepts of Social entrepreneurship and Corporate Social Responsibility have similar values f... more The concepts of Social entrepreneurship and Corporate Social Responsibility have similar values from the social value perspective. Social entrepreneurship focuses on solving social issues, creating a positive social impact in an innovative entrepreneurial way, and profit maximization is not the primary target. Corporations focus on creating economic values and profit maximization; and use the CSR concept as a tool to maintain socially responsible business conduct. Both CSR and social entrepreneurship concepts represent the same sustainable values in different ways. Thus, finding effective methods for accelerating social entrepreneurship through CSR activities will be fruitful for the betterment of the corporation's stakeholders, social entrepreneurs, and society at large. This paper aims to explore the current CSR activities of corporations that influence social entrepreneurship development and to identify the most effective methods/practices to accelerate social entrepreneurship. This study follows the qualitative inductive research methodology; and, the content analysis method has been used to analyze the collected data through the in-depth semi-structured expert interviews. It has been found that the current CSR practices for social entrepreneurship development are comparatively less than other community development and philanthropic considerations. Mokslinėje literatūroje ir Europos Sąjungos lygmens teisės aktuose vis labiau akcentuojama socialinių įmonių poveikio vertinimo įgyvendinimo svarba. Taciau socialinio poveikio vertinimo įgyvendinimą stabdo organizacijos vidinėje ir isorinėje aplinkoje esancios kliūtys ir apribojimai. Be to, užimtumo srityje veikiancių socialinių įmonių, socialinės misijos įgyvendinimas reikalauja papildomų isteklių ir laiko. Socialinio poveikio vertinimo praktika organizacijose yra menkai paplitusi, todėl siekiant tvaraus socialinių įmonių sektoriaus vystymo, sėkmingos socialiai pažeidžiamų asmenų integracijos, efektyvaus lėsų panaudojimo svarbu nustatyti, kaip įgyvendinti sistemingą, reguliarų socialinių įmonių, veikiancių užimtumo srityje, socialinio poveikio vertinimą, esant kliūtims ir apribojimams vidinėje ir isorinėje organizacijų aplinkoje. Socialinio poveikio vertinimo įgyvendinimo problema reikalauja holistinio požiūrio, atsižvelgiant į vidine ir isorine organizacijos aplinką. Disertacijoje analizuojami teoriniai socialinio poveikio vertinimo įgyvendinimo aspektai ir atliekamas socialinio poveikio vertinimo įgyvendinimo Baltijos salyse tyrimas. Teorinio ir empirinio tyrimo pagrindu parengta užimtumo srityje veikiancių socialinių įmonių kuriamo socialinio poveikio vertinimo įgyvendinimo koncepcija leidžia geriau issiaiskinti Baltijos salių vertinimo proceso įgyvendinimo aplinkos sąlygas, kliūcių ir apribojimų įveikimo prielaidas, veiksmus ir priemones, kurie yra reikalingi įgyvendinant sistemingą, reguliarų socialinio poveikio vertinimą socialinėse įmonėse.

In the process of globalization, the countries are forced to solve the issues of emigration, declining birth rates, and populating ageing. Therefore, immigration may be beneficial as the immigrating people help to create economic potential by filling vacancies. However, the acceptance of immigrants and their integration often leads to debates and confronts the members of society. The methods of research: analysis of scientific literature and documents, expert interview, analysis and interpretation of the research results. The review of scientific literature and the research data, presented in this article, may be adapted for improvement of the social integration factors, while considering the way the needs of immigrants are met and the integration measures that are provided. The research has revealed the key factors, influencing the social integration of immigrants in social enterprises.

The European Union's education and lifelong learning policy stresses informal learning within the... more The European Union's education and lifelong learning policy stresses informal learning within the society. The article aims to review the concept of lifelong learning and to analyze opportunities for continuous learning process in organizations. New technologies, innovations in the workplace and professional training encourage employees to improve constantly and awareness of the importance of lifelong learning can help to secure their future in a changing labor market. Research methods applied were as following: literature and document analysis, expert interviews, analysis of the results and interpretation. The article presents a review of scientific literature and research data reveals leaders' approach to employees' willingness to raise their qualification constantly and the organization's opportunities. The survey showed that employers want to have a highly qualified staff meeting the requirements of the organization, but do not always have sufficient funds for professional development.

Background: All three Baltic countries: Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, faced similar historical ... more Background: All three Baltic countries: Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, faced similar historical contexts and challenges. Currently, Baltic countries have created a favourable environment for entrepreneurship and have an active civil society sector. However, the social enterprise sector in the Baltic states is very young and still developing. Baltic countries have great potential for developing and expanding social enterprises through various support infrastructures. The solutions implemented to support the development of social enterprises differ in all three countries. Research objectives: This article aims to identify social entrepreneurship support incentives in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Research design and methods: The paper uses literature review, document analysis, and comparative analysis results. Results: The study revealed that all three Baltic states are gradually taking steps towards establishing a social enterprise ecosystem. However, Estonia and Lithuania lack supportive legal frameworks and tax support systems for SEs. The development of supportive regulatory environments could help to grow the sector and solve many conceptual issues. Conclusions: The governments could, therefore, adopt a legal regulation and a clear definition of SEs to build a shared understanding of the field between all sectors and to implement future governmental strategies with identified coordinating structures, roles, and missions of SEs for far more successful collaboration.

Conclusions: The governments could, therefore, adopt a legal regulation and a clear definition of SEs to build a shared understanding of the field between all sectors and to implement future governmental strategies with identified coordinating structures, roles, and missions of SEs for far more successful collaboration.

This article aims to identify the factors that could develop the local impact investment market in Sri Lanka as a tool for funding social enterprises. Design/methodology/approach: The methods of research are an analysis of scientific literature, experts’ interviews, and generalization. Findings: In order to accelerate the impact investment as a tool of funding, the impact investors, social enterprises, government and society must work collectively. Necessary social, cultural, and policy changes should be carried out, and specific recommendations have been made accordingly. Originality/value: This research study is essential in terms of sustaining and promoting impact investments in Sri Lanka as a tool of funding social enterprises and developing the ecosystem.
