Thus, detailed knowledge of the genital hygiene behaviours of visually impaired women is crucial for preventive and curative health services. This descriptive study was conducted to determine the genital hygiene behaviours of visually impaired women. The study was conducted with 90 visually impaired women who were members of the ‘Altı Nokta Körler’ association. A data collection form was developed within the scope of the study. The data were collected through the face-to-face interview method between October 2018 and June 2019. Descriptive study’s data were collected from individuals aged ≥65 years who have at least one chronic disease between April and June 2020 during the curfews by using the interview method via telephone. A decrease was found during the coronavirus pandemic regarding perceived well-being, fitness, and overall health, having regular physician examinations, sufficient sleep and rest, avoiding stress, and exercising regularly. The participants could not go to regular medical examinations (51.5%) and 37.3% of the participants did not consider going to the hospital. Some of the individuals (22.4%) had to go to the hospital because of acute problems. These results led to the consideration that there can be negative consequences of the pandemic on the health status of individuals. These consequences may cause health risks and irreversible problems in the management of chronic diseases.

Material and methods: The sample of the study consisted of women aged 40 years or above who were admitted to a tertiary care center between March and July 2019. The data were collected by faceto-face interview method. "International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire-Short Form (ICIQ-SF)" and "Incontinence Quality of Life Questionnaire (I-QOL)" were used to collect data on urinary incontinence and quality of life. Results: The screened sample included 140 women (mean age: 60.6±11.3 years). Urinary incontinence was detected in 90 subjects (64.3%). Urinary incontinence complaints were present for an average of four years. Self-rated effect on daily life was moderate (ICIQ-SF: 5.0±2.5), and more than half of them (64.4%) did not consider urinary incontinence as a health issue, More than half (62.9%) did not admit for professional care for many reasons. The average score was 85.0±14.7 from the "Psychosocial influence" sub-dimension, 71.0±16.9 from the "Social isolation" subdimension, 65.1±16.6 from the "Limitation of behaviors" sub-dimension, and 74.6±14.5 from the whole scale. There was no significant relationship between I-QOL total score and educational status, marital status, income level, chronic diseases, mode of delivery, and menopause. Discussion and conclusion: This study found that more than half of women admitted to a hospital for other reasons have urinary incontinence complaints. Although the duration of symptoms was long and quality of life was somehow influenced, admission to a health facility was low.

This study aims to identify the needs and anxiety levels of family members of critically-ill adult patients in emergency departments (ED). Methods: This descriptive study was conducted in the adult ED of a training and research hospital in Turkey. In order to collect data, we conducted face-to-face interviews with family members of critically-ill patients. The "Critical Care Family Needs Inventory-Emergency Department" (CCFNI-ED) and the "Spielberger State Trait Anxiety Inventory-State Scale" (STAI-S) were also used to identify the needs and the anxiety levels of the family members. Results: The average age of the participants was 40.81±13.32 years. Of the participants (n=172), 61.6% (n=106) were female. CCFNI-ED results showed that eight of the ten needs expressed by family members were related to communication. Overall anxiety level of the family members was 49.67%. Additionally, a statistically significant correlation was found between being female and STAI-S scores (t=2.41, p=0.01). 18.6% of family members expressed that their needs were unmet, while 29.1% of the participants stated that their needs were met. Conclusions: This study found no significant correlations between the scores obtained from STAI-S and CCFNI-ED. However, a statistically significant correlation was found between being female and STAI-S scores of relatives. Health professionals should take the higher anxiety levels of female family members into consideration, and they should pay attention to the needs of patients' relatives in order to manage their anxiety.
