Research shows that the perception that people holds against profession have an important influence on career decisions. The brain behind this study is to examine the perception of Toase Senior High students on the work of an accountant and the accounting profession. Students are found to hold a traditional view of the profession considering it to be boring definite, unattractive, meek, and precise and compliance driven. The perception of students studying accountant differs from non-accounting students and the male students perception differ from the female students that is students who are studying accounting in school have less negative views than those not studying the subject. Females view accounting as more definite, precise and compliance driven than males. The study of the subject at school, the factual media and teachers are the factors that influence the perception of students. These finding suggest that if the profession is to be successful in attracting students, who have the skills and attributes to become effective accountants, accounting educators and other stakeholders of accounting education should organized against accounting internship programme, effective career counseling and motivational speeches. Individual perception data were collected through questionnaires and interviews with accounting students, non-accounting students, accountants from the corporate public and public practice.
