An organization's competitiveness on the global and local market is determined by the ability to acquire and absorb appropriate knowledge and the ability to use it. Knowledge management is essential in the case of network organizations that build their potential through the proper use of tangible and intangible resources and improve the interactive learning process. The key task for network managers is to stimulate the flow of knowledge between various entities (Czakon, 2012). Improving the flow of knowledge is conducive to spreading knowledge and stimulating the willingness to share knowledge affects the level of innovation. The subject of research in this article are knowledge-based and information and communication technology (ICT)-based network models, which should be understood as those forms of cooperation (networks) that use existing knowledge resources, but also renew and update them all the time. Thanks to knowledge-based management, they strengthen their position in the local and

The Covid-19 pandemic is also influencing changing organizational systems and dynamic progress in technological transformation. The main purpose of the paper is to present the impact of digital transformation on changes in business models and to answer the question if Covid-19 will accelerate change. Design/methodology/approach: The paper contains the literature review on business model concept, Industry 4.0, Digital Transformation and Covid-19. In this paper the empirical study is also presented. The main research problem was to determine the impact of the digital transformation (technological progress) following the Covid-19 pandemic on changes in the business models of Polish enterprises and public sector institutions. Findings: A research confirmed that the digital transformation (processes connected with digitization, automation, robotization and artificial intelligence) resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on the business models of both Polish enterprises and public sector institutions. The research also confirmed a discrepancy between the opinions of experts and management when it came to assessing the impact of technological progress associated with Covid-19 on the business models of the surveyed organizations. Originality/value: The presented work is an important contribution when it comes to the postpandemic economic reality. Paper assesses the impact of technological progress induced by Covid-19 on changes in the functioning of individual processes, which can be an important guide for management practitioners, helpful in implementing modern technological solutions in organizations.

Design/methodology/approach: the typology method facilitates the analysis and understanding of the essence of business networks by identifying and characterizing their different types. The systematic literature review (SLR) methodology was used to develop the typology, enriched with the snowball method. Findings: analysis of the content of publications selected during the SLR procedure made it possible to indicate various criteria for the division and types of business networks from widely quoted literature. On this basis, a typology of business networks was proposed, divided into four main types: networks originating from industrial districts, strategic networks, cooperation networks, and global business networks. Practical implications: the possibility of using the proposed concept in assessing various business network models will enable the formulation of diagnostic findings and comparative and dynamic research. Originality/value: at the current stage of scientific reflection, the developed typology enriches the theory of organizational networks by systematizing and comprehensively addressing business network models, which may lead to identifying trends in their development. It is addressed to both researchers dealing with network issues and practitioners.

W pierwszej części omówiono problem definiowania i funkcji granic organizacji, a w dalszej kolejności przedstawiono charakterystykę granic organizacji sieciowych. Zdefiniowane zostały granice organizacji sieciowych oraz zaprezentowano metody wyznaczania granic sieci, przesłanki i problemy związane z wyznaczaniem granic sieci oraz charakterystykę granic w odniesieniu do wybranych typów sieci organizacyjnych.

Referring to issues related to the chaos theory, the factors stabilizing and destabilizing cooperation within organizational networks have been discussed, and subsequently, the concepts and selected models of the dynamics of organizational networks have been presented. In the further part, the article presents the problem of defining boundaries of networks, indicating the controversies and approaches related to this issue.
