The surface activity, size and stability were estimated by surface tension, SEM and DLS techniques. Inclusion complexes construction of the synthesized compound with the β-cyclodextrin and derivative was explored by various techniques. Conductance, surface tension trial & Jobs obtained from the UV-vis spectra proved the formation of 1:1 inclusion complexes between the surfactant and cyclodextrins. Binding constants and thermodynamic parameters of the inclusion of the guest DMPI with both hosts were determined with UV-vis and sophisticated fluorimetric analysis. Anti bacterial properties of DMPI and its both inclusion complexes were analyzed.

Research paper thumbnail of Study of Solvation Consequences of 1-Butyl-1-Methylpyrrolidinium Bromide and Chloride Prevailing in Protic Solvent System

Electrolytic conductivities, densities, viscosities, and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) studie... more Electrolytic conductivities, densities, viscosities, and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) studies of 1-buty-1-methyl pyrrolidiniumbromide ([BMPyrr][Br]) and 1-butyl-1-methylpyrrolidiniumchloride ([BMPyrr][Cl]) have been studied in methanol at different temperatures. The limiting molar conductivities, association constants, and the distance of closest approach of the ions have been analyzed using the Fuoss conductance equation (1978) for ionpair formation. Ion-solvent interactions have been interpreted in terms of apparent molar volumes and viscosity B-coefficients which are obtained from the results of density and viscosity measurements. The limiting apparent molar volumes, experimental slopes derived from the Masson equation and viscosity A and B coefficients using the Jones–Dole equation have been interpreted in terms of ion-ion and ion-solvent interactions respectively. The FTIR spectra for the methanol, as well as the ionic liquids in methanol have also been recorded. The exper...

Journal of Molecular Structure, 2018

The formation of the host-guest inclusion complexes of ionic liquids namely [BMIm]Cl and [HMIm]Cl... more The formation of the host-guest inclusion complexes of ionic liquids namely [BMIm]Cl and [HMIm]Cl with a-CD and b-CD were studied by means of physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. Conductivity and surface tension study were in good agreement with the 1H NMR and FT-IR studies which confirm the formation of the inclusion complexes. The Density and viscosity study also supported the formation of the ICs. Further the stoichiometry was determined 1:1 for each case and the association constants and thermodynamic parameters derived supported the most feasible formation of the [BMIm]Cl-b-CD inclusion complex.

Spectroscopic studies like FT-IR, UV and Visible and 1 H NMR, 2D ROESY NMR were carried out to confirm the formation of inclusion complexes. The surface tension and conductivity measurements reveal the 1:1 stoichiometry of the inclusion complex. The well-known Job's method and Benesi-Hildebrand method from UV study was also applied for confirmation the host-guest stoichiometry.

The inclusion complexes of sparingly soluble IL prepared with aand b-cyclodextrin in the mixed solvent medium and in solid state were studied by different physicochemical methodologies. Comparison of the chemical shift of the pure CDs, guest and complexes formed in 1-H NMR spectra, appearance of the cross peaks in 2D-ROESY spectra and shift in the band positions in FT-IR spectra confirmed the formation of inclusion complexes. Surface tension and con-ductance studies in the mixed solvent system indicated the 1:1 stoichiometric ratio of inclusion complex. Job's plot obtained from UV-Vis study and the spectra obtained from mass spectrometric study supported the formation as well as the stoichiometry of inclusion complexes. The high binding constant values and calculated values of thermodynamic parameters such as Gibb's free energy, enthalpy and entropy supported the high stability and feasibility of formation of the inclusion complex.

Journal of Molecular Structure, 2018

The supramolecular interaction of metoclopramide hydrochloride (MP) with α-cyclodextrin (α-CD) an... more The supramolecular interaction of metoclopramide hydrochloride (MP) with α-cyclodextrin (α-CD) and β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) has been inspected by ultravioletvisible (UV-vis) light, infra-red (IR) light, fluorescence and 1 H NMR spectroscopy. The formation of an inclusion complex greatly affects the physical-chemical properties of the guest molecules, such as solubility, chemical reactivity and the spectroscopic and electrochemical properties. Thus the changes in the spectral properties and physicochemical properties confirm the inclusion complex formation. Surface tension, conductivity studies and Job's plot indicate a 1 : 1 stoichiometry of the MP:CD hostguest inclusion complexes. The binding/association constants have been evaluated by both UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopic study indicating a higher degree of encapsulation for β-cyclodextrin (β-CD). Furthermore, the negative value of thermodynamic parameter (ΔG°) of the host-guest system suggests that the inclusion process proceeded spontaneously at 298.15 K. Based on the NMR data, the plausible mode of interaction of MP:α-CD and MP:β-CD complexes were proposed, which suggested that lipophilic aromatic ring of the MP entered into the cavity of CDs from the wider side, with the amide (-CONH) and methoxy (-OMe) residues inside the CD cavity.

The formations of host guest inclusion complexes were confirmed by studying 1H-NMR spectra, FT-IR spectra, apparent molar volume and viscosity co-efficient. The stabilities of inclusion complexes were compared calculating the binding constant from UV-VIS spectroscopic study. The 1:1 stoichiometry of the inclusion complexes were also determined by analysing the Jobs plot and surface tension data. The values for Gibbs’ free energy were found negative for both the processes. Based on all the above experiments the inclusion processes were found feasible for both the compounds. These types of inclusion complexes are of high interest in the field of research and industry as these are used as drug delivery systems.

Initially two simple but reliable physicochemical techniques namely conductance and surface tension were employed to find out saturation concentration for the inclusion and its stoichiometry. The obtained 1:1 stoichiometry was further confirmed by two spectrometric methods, UV-Vis study and spectrofluorimetry. Significant shifts in IR stretching frequency also support the inclusion process. Relative stabilities of the inclusion complexes were established by the association constants obtained from UV-Vis spectroscopic measurements, program based mathematical calculation of conductivity data. Calculations of the thermodynamic parameters dictates thermodynamic feasibility of the inclusion process. Spectrofluorometric measurement scaffolds the UV-Vis spectroscopic measurement validating stability of the ICs once again. Mass spectroscopic mea...

In aqueous solution, hydrophobic butyl side chain of the ionic liquid has been inserted into the hollow space of cyclodextrin. The selective formation of 1:1 inclusion complexes has been established here. Surface tension values, conductivity trends, and thermodynamic and spectroscopic study reveal that formations of inclusion complexes are more favorable and efficient for β-CD than α-CD.
