O Square Kilometre Array (SKA) é um projeto de ciência e engenharia que pretende construir o maio... more O Square Kilometre Array (SKA) é um projeto de ciência e engenharia que pretende construir o maior radiotelescópio do mundo e que só é possível graças ao esforço de muitos para a sua construção. Trata-se de um radiotelescópio com um quilómetro quadrado, ou seja, um milhão de metros quadrados (1.000.000 m2) sendo que este projecto representa um grande avanço ao nível da tecnologia e da investigação, e, sem dúvida promove o desenvolvimento. Implica a construção de um instrumento único, que necessitou de uma concetualização detalhada e um período de preparação, que está neste momento a decorrer.
