To enable broader analytical thinking about risk factors, the framework utilizes the resource-based theory to link various classes of risks to an extended set of organizational resources. Design/methodology/approach The paper opted for an exploratory study using a sample from an online survey. The survey subjects were recruited from the membership database of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, focusing primarily on CFOs. The survey consisted of six sections: demographics, a section on each of the four risk types included in ERM: strategic risk, operational risk, financial risk and hazard risk, and exit questions (where very general questions about ERM were asked). Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) is a water and fat-soluble antioxidant which is readily absorbed from the intestine resulting in maximum bioavailability. Moreover, ALA acts as a coenzyme in glucose metabolism and helps generate other antioxidants. Considering these benefits, we hypothesized that dietary supplementation of ALA would help mitigate heat stress in poultry. A total of 72 Day-old broiler chicks were randomly assigned into three treatment groups: no heat stress (NHS), heat stress with basal diet (HS), and heat stress with alpha-lipoic acid (HS+ALA); each treatment group had 6 replicate pens with 4 birds in each pen (n = 24/group). The growth behaviour (pH, titratable acidity, viable cell count), β-glucosidase, β-galactosidase, and proteolytic activity of indigenous Lactobacillus cultures were studied with various nutritional supplements in soy-drink. Two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was applied and the post-hoc comparison was acquired by Tukey’s HSD test for all the data presented in the study. Due to the supplementation of nutritional factors, the pH dropped as a bit of lactic acid production was also observed due to a lack of lactose. In the study, four potent Lactobacillus cultures of L. rhamnosus K4E, L. plantarum RD7, L. fermen... more In the study, four potent Lactobacillus cultures of L. rhamnosus K4E, L. plantarum RD7, L. fermentum K7, and L. fermentum K16 were considered for the production of B-vitamins, organic acids and biotransformation of soy isoflavones. L. plantarum RD7 showed the highest B2 production (0.84 μg mL−1) after 36 h, while L. fermentum K16 exhibited maximum B12 production (0.084 μg mL−1) after 12 h. L. rhamnosus K4E produced 0.24 μg mL−1 of folate after 12 h. Highest production of lactate (16.43 μg mL−1) and acetate (5.86 μg mL−1) was reported by L. rhamnosus K4E. L. plantarum RD7 showed maximum butyrate (0.253 μg mL−1) production compared to the other cultures. The highest bioconversion of soy aglycones was reported by L. rhamnosus K4E with 55.43% for daidzein and 72.30% for genistein, during soymilk fermentation. However, the functional role of SALL1 (csal1) and SALL3 (csal3) in chicken prehierarchical follicle (PF) development is unknown. This study aimed to explore the potential role and mechanism of csal1 and csal3 in granulosa cells (GCs) proliferation, differentiation, and follicle selection within the PFs of hen ovary. Our data demonstrated that the csal1 and csal3 transcriptions were highly expressed in GCs of the various-sized PFs and their proteins were mainly localized in the cytoplasm of granulosa cells and oocytes of the examined PFs as well as in the ovarian stroma and epithelium. In this regard, we theorize, and propose, budgeting at the transaction-cycle level for effective budget designs. The transaction-cycle level budget requires management justification for resource assignment to business processes, often spanning multiple departments. The transaction-cycle typology consists of five cycles: production, expenditure, financial, revenue, and human-resources. In order to distinguish among transaction cycles, we use their relative positions within the value chain and technology content in their business processes. As a proof-of-concept, we develop theoretical arguments for asymmetric ratcheting in operating budgets at the transaction-cycle level in hospitals, and empirically examine this phenomenon using longitudinal archival data.
