The article examines the formation and development of regional policy in the Russian Federation, ... more The article examines the formation and development of regional policy in the Russian Federation, the evolution of its principles, institutes, institutions and instruments. This article is aimed at the analyzes of the prospects for the elimination of identified contradictions in the implementation of regional policy. The authors associate these prospects with the present stage of transition to the strategic planning and management of regional development. Special attention is paid to the new level of regional policy – macro-regions.
