Solar distillation is one of the techniques that use this energy to obtain portable water from ground or saltwater. The purpose of our experimental study is to show that the blocks of natural carbon, that is to say, the remains of a fire, can serve as an element for improving the performance of a solar still. For this, two similar solar stills were used, one is taken as reference SSR and the other modified still SSM contains carbon block. The results show that there is an improvement rate of 8%.

Solar distillation is an environmental technique that uses solar energy to treat polluted water. ... more Solar distillation is an environmental technique that uses solar energy to treat polluted water. In this context, two solar stills of the same size (0.5 x 0.5 m) were exposed to the sun i.e., under the same weather conditions to see the effect of small iron parts on the production of pure water. The results showed that the modified solar still SSM which contained iron pieces had an improvement rate of 23.46% compared to the reference solar still SSR.

Thus in this work, we formed the basic nucleus of the organic perovskite, and we studied its morphological properties. The X-ray diffraction result shows that this compound is consistent, homogeneous, and has preferential orientation growth be at (100) plane, which means that the experimental conditions which we worked on were optimal. After adding both tin iodide and methylamine chloride in organic solvents (DMF and DMSO). Deposited this mixture by spray pyrolysis method at Specific temperature 120C°, on the glass substrate, a thin black layer formed; the result of X-ray diffraction on this latter layer showed that it is a spectrum of perovskite compound, which has preferential orientation growth be at (110) plane. Via optical proprieties, it found that has low gap energy of 1.78 eV, and transmittance of 1,6% furthermore it has a high absorption coefficient of 8.104 cm-1, in the vis...

Research paper thumbnail of Calculation of coefficient of sharing Octanol-Water of organic compounds using molecular descriptors

Journal of Fundamental and Applied Sciences, 2015

A quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) study is carried out to develop correlation... more A quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) study is carried out to develop correlations that relate the molecular structures of organic compounds to their Octanol-Water partition coefficients, Kow , using molecular descriptors. The correlations are simple in application with good accuracy, which provide an easy, direct and relatively accurate way to calculate Kow. Such calculation gives us a model that gives results in remarkable correlation with the descriptors of blocks fragments of the atom-centered and functional groups (R2 = 0.949, δ = 0477) (R2 = 0.926,δ = 0,548) respectively.

The results reveal that the still with refractor continues to outperform the still with a metal plate in terms of pure water production, with a 42.74% improvement rate vs a 26.05% rate for the still with a metal plate.

For this reason, we implemented a methodology containing nine detailed successive steps that include a quantitative structure-activity/property relationship (QSAR/QSPR) study performed to develop a model that relates the structures of 190 pesticides compounds to their n-octanol-water partition coefficients (logkow). We used the unique atomic signatures which represent the structures and acts as independent variables while the property (logkow) as the dependent variable. The model was constructed using 130 molecules as training set, and predictive ability tested using 60 compounds. Modeling of logkow of these compounds as a function of the signatures descriptors was established by multiple linear regression (MLR) using (LOO) cross-validation. As...
