It is of great interest and has been extensively studied in the English language. However, sentiment analysis in the Arabic language has not received wide attention and most of the research done on Arabic either focuses on introducing new datasets or new sentiment lexicons. In this paper, we introduce a preprocessing suite that includes morphological processing, emoticon extraction, and negation processing to improve the sentiment analysis. Furthermore, we conduct experiments on sentiment analysis of hotel reviews that target two classification tasks: positive/negative and positive/negative/neutral. Our experimental results using various supervised learning algorithms, including deep learning algorithm, demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed techniques.

This would imply that although the concept of CSR is an acceptable notion, standardisation of initiatives across organisations, industries and regions would be shrouded with discrepancies and inconsistencies. Transformative business models necessitate innovative CSR modelling that will provide supply chain managers with sufficient scope for enhancement of stakeholder value. Businesses appear to respond in a variety of ways to CSR demands and stakeholder pressure. This article aims to investigate the notions of CSR in organisations within the UAE, thereby providing a platform for Business Organizations (profit and not-for-profit) to formulate CSR agenda for their supply chain managers. The results from this analysis will enable managers to be equipped with knowledge of the underlying CSR themes, thereby empowering them to apply the right tools & techniques – in fulfilment of the very core attributes of responsive and compliant CSR. A case study design was adopted using selected organisations in the UAE and a semi-structured questionnaire was administered. A comparison was to be made to establish the key determinants of CSR issues within UAE organisations. The study makes a significant contribution to the specialist body of knowledge by providing insights into organisational CSR practices in the UAE from a stakeholder perspective. Adoption of stakeholder theory for strategic CSR to determine the materials issues for CSR implementation. Practitioners and supply chain managers can model their CSR plans around this theory for sustainable supply chain management and social responsiveness.

It is an acceptable fact that supply chain operations, local or global, face numerous unforeseen challenges that expose them to ineffective and inefficient performance. It is evident that organizations that manage environmental, social and economic risks are better positioned to deliver sustainable supply chain operations. The next generation of supply chain management should not be comfortable with the old adage of out-of-sight out-of-mind behaviour as this presents an unacceptable reputational risk level to the sustainability of logistics business operations. Research Approach: The research adopted a mixed methodology that employed a comparative case study approach, semi-structured questionnaires and content analysis to analyse in order to explain the institutional and stakeholder influences on organizational CSR in supply chains for UK and SA based organizations. Findings and Originality: The findings here argue that sustainability of logistics and supply chain operations should consider stakeholder perceptions and respond to various institutional pressures within the institutional settings. Research Impact: The research makes a significant contribution to the specialist body of knowledge by providing insights into corporate sustainability practices in the two countries from an institutional and stakeholder perspectives.

Given differential institutional contexts and conflicting stakeholder expectations, the key question is how organisations identify and prioritise CSR material issues (Sethi, 1979). A comparative case study approach was used to analyse organisations practising CSR in the United Kingdom (UK) and South Africa (SA) in order to provide deeper insights into the key factors that are most likely to influence organisational decisions towards social responsiveness. Based on institutional and stakeholder theories, this research study investigates the key factors that influence organisational CSR initiatives in the UK and SA. Employing a case study approach, semi-structured questionnaires and content analysis of annual reports were used to analyse and explain the institutional and stakeholder influences on organisational CSR practices in the UK and SA. Whilst CSR appears to be an umbrella term for social responsiveness, the findings here reveal that terms such as 'corporate sustainability' and 'corporate social investment' are preferred by the sample organisations in these two countries. CSR perspectives for organisations in the two countries are dominated by cohesive and mimetic isomorphism pressures within the institutional settings and stakeholder perceptions are important to organisations' choices in prioritising CSR initiatives. Essentially, the thesis shows similarities of explicit and implicit CSR perspectives in both countries, suggesting convergence of CSR perspectives. However divergences in CSR decisions have been revealed in stakeholder groups and specific CSR issues for sample organisations in different industries within the two countries. This doctoral research study has therefore made a significant contribution to the specialist body of knowledge by providing insights into CSR practices in the two countries from an institutional and stakeholder perspectives. The thesis has also developed a conceptual framework for analysing and understanding CSR perspectives in different national contexts. The framework has practical application in CSR strategy development within organisations with crossnational operations. By starting with institutional environmental analysis, organisations can develop appropriate CSR responses to the prevailing pressures within different business and regional contexts.

These technologies provide businesses and managers immense opportunities for adoption towards cost reduction, improved customer service and enhanced shareholder wealth. However if not checked properly, the same can be a ‘disruptive’ technology that will threaten the performance and competitiveness for businesses. This paper explored which digital technologies have been adopted for supply chain management and how these technologies have brought reduction in operational costs and enhanced shareholder value. The research paper highlights the key technologies that are adopted within UAE and demonstrate how these technologies contribute to organizational performance and enhanced shareholder wealth. It is evident that organisations are investing in technologies like, RFID and ERP for cost reduction and shareholder wealth enhancement.

This chapter explores these opportunities and associated challenges in relation to supply chain network design. The opportunities arise from Africa’s abundant resources, which are in demand from developed economies. Africa is also considered to be one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. However some challenges are caused by gaps in the infrastructure, affecting logistics and supply chain performance. Logistics managers will need to address these challenges when designing their supply chain networks for the foreseeable future.

This paper demonstrates above mentioned scenario in the context of supply chain management (SCM). Despite enduring a series of disruptions, including the pandemic and geopolitical tensions, notably the situation between Ukraine and Russia, the Bangladeshi economy has displayed remarkable resilience. In the fiscal year 2019-20, there was a significant decline in GDP growth, dropping from 7.88 percent in the pre- pandemic year to 3.45 percent. However, there was a notable resurgence in GDP growth, surging to 6.94 percent in FY 2020-21 and further rising to 7.10 percent in FY 2021-22. Unfortunately, the economic growth for FY 2022-23 has been impeded by the Russia-Ukraine crisis. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of an economy is a composite of contributions from three key sectors: agriculture, industry, and services. As the economic landscape evolves, the significance of the agriculture sector diminishes, while the industrial sector gains prominence. This research is developed based on primary and secondary data sources, encompassing online databases, journals, review papers, and more. The primary data collection includes a comprehensive survey questionnaire completed by 207 respondents from 24 industrial sectors in Bangladesh. The study addresses multiple challenges faced by warehouse operations and offers recommendations for best practices and a strategic way forward in the global arena for Bangladesh, where priorities such as achieving net-zero emissions, sustainability, and the adoption of lean warehouse operations are paramount. Furthermore, the study provides a novel approach by recommending implementation of the Integrated Supply Chain Performance Measurement (ISCPM) model, along with its ten attributes, as an integral component of adopting global best practices for practitioners and researchers, which would contribute and unlock further research opportunities to develop this sector.
