The GA is reported to show higher analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties than ASA itself. In this perspective, six GAs which are composed of β-D-glucopyranose, ASA and acetyl groups are considered for the present investigations. The glucose unit in these GAs possesses regular chair conformation with slightly lower dipole moments. Molecular orbitals indicated a higher HOMO-LUMO gap of the molecules. All GAs showed more prone to electrophilic interactions than aspirin. Overall, glucose-aspirin esters are found to have better non-steroidal anti-inflammatory properties than the original aspirin. These GAs are better inhibitors of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX2, 5f19) compared to cyclooxygenase-1 (COX1, 6y3c) indicating that these GAs are potential drug candidates for COX2 related inflammation. Additionally, aspirinyl group at C-6 or C-3 position of the glucopyranose unit is found more suitable for anti-inflammatory activities as compared to C-4 position.

In this context, unimolar 3-chlorobenzoylation of methyl α-L-rhamnopyranoside (4) using dibutyltin oxide method regioselectively furnished only the 3-O-substitution product 5 in excellent yield. The reaction proceeded via the formation of a cyclic 2,3-Odibutylstannylene intermediate where equatorial hydroxyl group is activated by the tin atom leading to the formation of product 5 only. To get biologically important rhamnopyranoside esters chlorobenzoate 5 was further converted into three newer 2,4-di-O-acyl products 6-9 with other acylating agents using direct acylation method. Prediction of activity spectra for substances (PASS) indicated that these rhamnopyranoside esters have many promising biological profiles including CYP2H substrate, membrane permeability inhibitor and better antifungal activities. Additionally, ADMET and drug likeness properties of SEs 5-8 were predicted and discussed.

In this context, unimolecular treatment of methyl α-L-rhamnopyranoside with dibutyltin oxide gave the corresponding 2,3-O-(dibutylstannylene) derivative which was then allowed to react with 3-chlorobenzoyl chloride. The reaction regioselectively furnished the 3-O-substitution product in excellent yield. To get newer rhamnopyranoside esters chlorobenzoate was further converted into four 2,4-di-O-substituted products with other acylating agents using direct acylation technique. Moreover, thermodynamic properties indicated that these sugar esters (SEs) possess better stability, suitable polar nature and higher binding affinity than the non-ester rhamnopyranoside. Prediction of Activity Spectra for Substances (PASS) predication showed that these SEs should be more potent against fungal pathogens than the bacterial organisms. With these encouraging results absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity (ADMET) and drug-likeness properties of the SEs are also discussed.

In this respect, four glucose compounds in the furanose and pyranose forms with ester and ether functionality were selected for their structural, thermodynamic and chemical reactivity studies. PASS predication indicated that the glucose in the six-membered pyranose form was more prone to biological properties compared to their five-membered furanose form. Also, in the pyranose form acetate ester (3) had more potentiality than the ethyl ether (4). The HOMO-LUMO energy gaps were almost similar for both monosubstituted furanose and pyranose glucose indicating their almost similar reactivities. It was also inferred that these 6-O-substituted compounds followed Lipinski's rule with the acceptable range of ADMET levels, and hence, safe from lethal proarrhythmic risks. Hopefully, these results can be used in the near future for their probable pharmaceutical use without any remarkable toxicity.

In this context, a series of benzyl -Lrhamnopyranoside esters with different chain length (C2-C18) were employed for PASS predication, antiviral, and in vitro antimicrobial activity test. The in vitro antimicrobial tests against four bacterial, and four fungal pathogens along with PASS predication indicated that these sugar esters acted as better antifungals as compared to antibacterial functionality. The study revealed that the incorporation of octanoyl (C8) and lauroyl (C12) group(s) at C-3 position of rhamnopyranoside possessed promising antimicrobial, and anti-carcinogenic potentiality with good pharmacokinetic (pkCSM), and drug likeness properties. Also, attachment of multiple ester groups enhanced various drug likeness, and medicinal chemistry friendliness conditions. Overall, the present findings might be useful for the development of rhamnopyranoside based novel MDR antimicrobial drugs.

Additionally, aspirinyl group at C-6 or C-3 position of the glucopyranose unit is found mo...

The reasons are research gaps in pathophysiology of the disease, proper management of the disease. Fexofenadine HCl is a second-generation antihistamine drug which has a half-life of about 14.4 h. It is useful in the management of common symptoms like sneezing, itchy throat, and red eyes in individuals suffering from allergic rhinitis. Fexofenadine immediate release or sustained release formulations are available in the market as suspension, tablet and capsule. In this research paper, we have discussed the symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis and treatment approaches. Fexofenadine HCl is being used for the treatment of this disease. But as it has a long half-life, we have discussed the importance of the introduction of sustained-release microsphere formulation of Fexofenadine HCl in the market.

By optimizing the formulation variables, they can be prepared to obtain targeted release, immediate release, sustained release patterns. The release of the active drug material depends upon a number of formulation parameters such as polymers, stirring speed (rpm), methodology, surfactants, etc. Fexofenadine hydrochloride (HCl) is a second generation antihistamine. Our present research has explored the effects of using different rpm (600- 1000 rpm) in preparing fexofenadine hydrochloride (HCl) microspheres by emulsion solvent evaporation method. The formulation is aimed to provide sustained release for the required long period with a high margin of safety. We used a blended mixture of Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC) K 100 MCR and Eudragit RL100 polymers to have sustained-release microspheres. The impact of different rpm on Yield, drug encapsulation efficiency...

While magnesium should be present in nutritionally important quantities in regular diets, average Bangladeshi diets frequently fail to contain an adequate supply of the element. Thus, the study aims to determine the amount of magnesium in four different dietary items, bananas, vegetables and pulses, locally available in Chittagong, Bangladesh, using Spectrophotometric method. As per the findings, the magnesium concentration for banana contrasts between 0.843 µg/g and 3.654µg/g. Musa cavendishii from Satkania Upazila contains the highest value while, the lowest amount is found in Musa paradisiaca from Lama Upazila. For arums, the amount varies between 0.476 and 21.3456µg/g. The highest amount was found in arums, Colocasia esculenta (Patiya upazila) i.e. 21.3456µg/g and the lowest amount appears from the same species at Boailkhali upazila. In vegetables, the quantity fluctuates betwee...

People are exposed to copper by brealhing air, drinking water, eating food, and by skin contact with soil, water and other copper-containing substances. Most copper compounds found in air, water, sediment, soil and rock are strongly attached to dust and dirt or imbedded inminerals. It rapidly enters into the bloodstream and is distr:ibuted throughout the body after eating or drinking the copper containing products. Certain substances in foods are eaten with copper can affect the amount of copper that enters into the bloodstream from the gastrointest:inal wet. The present investigation shows that four verities of vital food i.e. pulses, bananas, vegetables and arums contain diverse ammmt of copper in Chittagong area of Bangladesh. This food is taken for survival the life. The amoums of copper in pulses were found to vary from 3.22S 29.653l!J.g/g of that region. The highest and lowest values were found in J'igna muungo (Anowam) and L...
