DM was the common co-morbid condition along with IHD, COPD, pulmonary Koch’s, hypertension and alcoholic liver disease. The common complications were respiratory failure, kidney failure and shock. The overall case fatality rate was found to be 42%.It was observed that mortality was higher among the patients presenting with shock (73%) and abnormal liver function tests (70%).

It decrease the amplitude of disturbances leading to increase in comfort and improved ride quality. The spring is compressed rapidly when the load impacting on it. The compressed spring rebound to its normal dimension or normal loaded length. The spring get compressed below its normal height when the load pushes the spring down. This causes the spring to rebound again. The spring bouncing process occurs over and over every less each time, until the up-and- down movement finally stops or the disturbance can be neglected. The system handling becomes very difficult and leads to uncomfortable operation when vibration become uncontrolled. Hence, the designing of spring in a suspension system is very crucial. The analysis is done by considering bike mass, loads, and no of persons seated on bike. Comparison is done by substituting coil spring by wa...

Research paper thumbnail of Hypervisor : A Survey on Concepts and Taxonomy

Because of the advancement of VLSI technology and aggregate throughput of all devices of servers,... more Because of the advancement of VLSI technology and aggregate throughput of all devices of servers, we are having tremendous computing power which could not be utilized either 100% or optimized way. Virtualization technique has solved this problem by providing proper utilization of hardware resources. Virtualization refers to the abstraction of computer resources. It separates user and applications from the specific hardware characteristics they use to perform their task and thus creates virtual environment. The purpose of creating virtual environment is to improve resource utilization by aggregating heterogeneous and autonomous resources. This can be provided by adding a layer called HYPERVISOR between OS and underlying hardware. There are many market players who have launched the hypervisor. This paper mentions architectural specification of each hypervisor followed by common characteristics that each hypervisor poses.

Poor compressibility problem of Mannitol was overcome by coprocessing it with maltose and corn starch in varying ratios. The results of evaluation tests indicate that the ratio of Mannitol: Maltose: Corn starch: 19:2:1 gave better tableting performance with respect to precompression & postcompression parameters. It was also observed that increase in maltose content, increased the hardness but negatively affects disintegration and drug release and vice versa. Furthermore the study on effect of superdisintgrants shows that Crospovidone gives faster disintegration and satisfactory drug release in concentration of 4% compared to that of Sodium starch glycolate & Croscarmelose sodium. Formulation using a bioadhesive polymer PVP K 30 in ratio of 0.5% showed uniform release of drug over a period of 20 minutes with complete solubilization of tablet compared to that of gelatin and carbopol 934. On numerical optimization of prepared formulations, three formulations were suggested by Design Expert 8.0.7.1(Trial Version), among that Formulation B gave better correlation between predicted value and observed value. Thus Formulation B was chosen as global best formulation.

Formulation development of MCG of DM and optimization of the formulation by screening of different excipients. MCG containing DM was prepared by screening different concentrations of sweeteners, flavouring agents, softening agents, lubricants and anti-adherents by changing one variable at a time. Performance evaluation was carried out by evaluating size, shape, thickness, taste, scanning electron microscopy, texture analysis, in vivo drug release study, ex vivo buccal permeation study and by studying statistical analysis for quality. The statistical analysis showed significant improvement in organoleptic properties such as chewable mass, product taste, product consistency, product softness, total flavour lasting time and pharmaceutical properties like micromeritic properties after incorporation of appropr...

Query expansion is an effective way to resolve the ambiguity of a query. We attempt to make a consolidated study of the effectiveness of query logs in this regard. We report empirical findings on the effect of personalization over an anonymous query log. We have designed a novel evaluation method to quantify improvements due to personalization. In the second part of our work, we present a novel approach to intelligently detect queries whose expansions potentially lead to improvements in retrieval. Empirical results obtained using this approach clearly show significant improvements over indiscriminate query expansion.

Research paper thumbnail of Comparative Efficacy of Phytochemical Analysis and Antioxidant Activity of Methanolic Extract of Calotropis Gigantea and Calotropis Procera

This study was designed to evaluate comparative antioxidant activity, metal chelating properties and larvicidal activity of methanolic extract of two common species of Calotropis, viz. Calotropis gigantea (Linn.) R.Br. and Calotropis procera (Ait.) R.Br. The total phenolic and flavonoid content was determined and expressed in term of gallic acid equivalent and quercetin equivalent respectively. In this study, antioxidant activity was measured by radical (DPPH•) scavenging, reducing power, FRAP assay and metal chelating activity assay. The leaves of C. procera were found to have higher antioxidant potential than flower and root extract with IC50 values of 0.21μg/ml for DPPH scavenging, 0.98 mg/ ml for metal chelating. C. procera significantly more potent in scavenging free radical and antioxidant activity than C. gigantea. Extract of all parts of both species however demonstrated similar IC50 value for metal chelating activity. C. procera possess comparatively higher antioxidant activity in reducing ferric ions than C. gigantea. The leaf methanolic extract showed a concentration dependent larvicidal activity with a lowest LD50 value of 387 mg/l compared to other extracts. There was no significant difference observed in the LC50 value for larvicidal activity of all parts between C. procera and C. gigantea which indicate both species exhibits same effect against Ae. aegypti larvae. Occurrence of more total phenols and flavonoids in all parts of C. procera as compared to C. gigantea correlates to its high antioxidant activity. The observations reported in this paper could be of applied value in utilization of C. procera for different clinical purpose which showed strong antioxidant potential rather than C. gigantea. Key Words: Calotropis, Antioxidant activity, Larvicidal activity.
