When an individual isin their early adolescence phase, his/her creativity is greatly influenced by its surroundingsand school environment is one of those crucial factors. Hence, the present study wasplanned to explore the mediating role of school environment in students’ blocks andconsequences creativity. The primary data was collected from 300 academically bright ruralyoung adolescents. Z-test and ANOVA were administered to discover the influence ofindependent variables (school environment) on the dependent variables (blocks andconsequences creativity). Results elucidated significant differences in blocks fluency, consequences originality and consequences creativity across school type, academic classand teaching method employed by the teachers. A total of 50 children in the age group of 3–5 years were selected from rural areas of district Hisar. These children were subjected to age appropriate Vinland Behaviour Scale for assessment of their skills. Comparison of mean of boys to that of girls over the different age groups of 4–5 years. The boys were better in social skills than the girls which may be due to comparatively better interactions of parents or care givers towards boys. The overall mean values of social skills for boys were significantly higher than the mean of girls in the age group of 3–5 years.

Social intelligence scale by Chadda and Ganeshan (1986) was used to assess the relationship between aspects of social intelligence of adolescents. Results revealed that patience were significantly correlated with cocoperativness (r = 0.22**), confidence (r = 0.21**), sensitivity (r = 0.31**) and non-significantly tactfulness (r =0.10). Confidence was significantly correlated with patience (r = 0.21**). Sensitivity were significantly correlated with patience (r =0.31**) and confidence (r = 0.29**). Academic motivation Scale by Areepattamannil (2006) was used to assess the relationship of academic motivation of adolescents. Results revealed that Academic motivation and social intelligence of respondents was positively and significantly correlated in three blocks namely; Panipat (r= 0.99**), Bapoli (r=0.32**) and Smalkha (r=0.27**).

To conduct twin study 100 pairs of twins from two districts, namely: Bhiwani (n = 90) and Hisar (n = 110) of Haryana State, genetic and environmental influences were assessed in twin study design. The cognitive abilities of twins were measured using the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-R). Home Observation for Measurement of the Environment (HOME) Inventory was taken to examine the home environment of twins. Heritability estimate was used to analyze the genes contributing to shape the cognitive abilities of twins. The result of heritability estimates revealed that the heritability estimates of general cognitive abilities namely: information (62%), similarities (57%), vocabulary (60%) and comprehension (55%) in Bhiwani district and in Hisar district, the heritability estimates were 58 per cent, 55 per cent, 56 per cent and 51 per...

This study was conducted on 60 boys of age group 8-10 years engaged in different type of works like domestic, wage labour and non –domestic labour in 2005 in city Bhopal of state Madhya Pradesh. The anthropometrics measurements of these children were taken with help of weighing scale, anthropometrics rod and fiber tape. Result indicated that mean height and weight at each age was found less as compared to mean height and weight of standard I.C.M.R. population. The main reason of child labour was poverty, illiteracy, lack of resources for their livelihood and ignorance of their parents and most of the children were not satisfied with their work.

Cognitive development index of 400 babies was assessed to find out differences for age groups, gender and locality. The sample comprised boys and girls distributed in 4 age groups during the age of one to two years in urban and rural areas. Considerable differecnes in mental level were observed for all the age groups studied for both boys and girls in both areas. With regard to gender, rural boys were better than rural girls, but in urban area boys were at par with girls for all the age groups. Interaction of age and gender revealed that there was no differential increase in boys and girls over the age groups studied. Urban babies were superior to the rural babies at same age groups but at par for pooled mean of all age groups. The babies having significantly poor mental status in both areas were admi...

An inventory was prepared to assess the overall behavioural adjustment of children based on their overt classroom behaviour. Interpersonal Problem Solving by Shure and Spivack (l974a) were used to measured children's interpersonal cognitive problem-solving skills for avoiding the anger of their mothers. Clearly shows that impatience (r = 0.33***), emotionality, (r = -0.32***), and aggression(r = -0.41***), were marginally to moderately negatively correlated with proportions of "non-forceful” strategies. Table further shows that impatience (r = 0.30***) and aggression (r = 0.52***) were marginally to strongly positively correlated with proportions of "forceful" strategies. Further results show that strategies in Mother Problem tasks, "Apology-truth “alternatives were marginally negatively correlated with (r = -0.35***) aggression. "Blame other, hide, and hide object” strategies were mar...

Temperament defined as person emotional and behavioural modes of response to environmental events. The present study was conducted in four districts namely; Hisar Fatehabad, Rohtak and Jind of Haryana state with the purpose of availability of maximum numbers of twins in the required age group. A sample of 296 pairs of twins in the age group for the study. Temperament was taken as dependent variable and cultural zone was taken as independent variable. The Malhotra Temperament Schedule (MTS) developed by Malhotra and Malhotra (1988) was used to assess child's temperament. Result revealed that dizygotic twins indicated that highly significant difference were found between bagar and khaddar dizygotic twins on sociability (2.82**), emotionality (4.11**) and total temperament (3.78**) of twins.
