The Moon phase with its light intensity is a factor that is often related to the pattern of distr... more The Moon phase with its light intensity is a factor that is often related to the pattern of distribution and the presence of fish hordes. Fish have the nature of interest in light (positive phototaxis) so that the intensity of moonlight affects the process of collecting fish at night using light. This study aims to understand the operation of purseiner, analyze the composition of purseiner catches, and analyze the effect of the moon phase on purseiner catches. Data collection method used is survey method whereas, data analysis method used is descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The results of the observations show that the time of capture when the new moon gets the most catch is 31,600 kg (43% of the total catch), while the smallest catch is the full moon phase of 5,920 kg (8% of total catch). The type of macarel scad caught in the new month was 10,430 kg while in the full moon it was only 1,960 kg, this shows that the moon phase with its light intensity is very influential on the catch volume so that the productivity of purseiner increases in the new moon phase while during the full moon phase productivity decreases.

So skipjack fishery business needs to be supported for the development and increased production. Skipjack are fast swimmers and live clusterd and aggressive in eating and chasing their prey. Skipjack are usually caught using pole and line. catching by pole and line that consists of fishing rod, rope and hook. One of the factors that determine the success of skipjack fishing is availability by live bait. live bait used during fishing is the types anchovy type bait its good for catching skipjack is Maerowa are one of anchovy type. It caused of this bait type is stronger and not easy to die also have shiny skin that attracteing for skipjack. usually ships pole and line take a live bait on boke ami. pole and line ship be completed with bait shelter and system circulator. so that bait has taken in boke ami could survive life until in the fishing ground. as for types bait usually used is Spratelloides gracilis, encrasicholina heteroloba, rastrelligerkanagurta, sardinella, gymnocaesi gymnoptera, decapterus macrosoma. all bait this usually taken or purchased on Boke ami and arrested alone with way (Balobe). This to be influence on the bait that is. At the bright moon. Because in the bright moon bait is very difficult to get it, so usually ship pole and line many are not operating because availability bait that insufficient. And on the moon is bright also usually the skipjack rises. Because at the bright moon stock of fish began to decrease. Because on the months it’s getting hart to cacth. This is because nature and behavior of fish likes on light. So in the light month fish began to spread and can not be colleted on the light of the lamp Boke ami.

AAS in January until March consisted of 11 trips to get as many as 31,730 kg of catchs. Based on the main target of catch, the Bullet Tuna (auxis rochei) obtained in January as much as 10,800 kg with a percentage of 35.88%, while in February there were 8,300 kg with a percentage of 27.57%, and in March as much as 11,000 kg with a percentage of 36.54%. The size of the main catch, the quantity amount of by catch, and the composition of the catch can be an indicator of the selectivitys of fishing gear. The average size of the main catches ranges from 21.0-21.9 cm. The government assign the size of lisong mackarel that is still allowed to be caught ranges from 13.0 to 34.0 cm, so that the regulation of a species can be maintained. It was extracted from the three factors obtained above, then purse seine gear on KM. AAS is included in the high category, which means that the fishing gear or fishing vessel can operate while still paying attention to the provision. Fishing that is good environmentally must be maintained so that the existing resources can continue to be used as one of the country's food security.The role of government is realy neccesary in the fishing community is to socialize the importance of Good environmentally fishing on existing resources.

The research on difference of purse sine catches from fishing time and fishing ground characteris... more The research on difference of purse sine catches from fishing time and fishing ground characteristic had been carried out for 6 months starting from November 5, 2016 to May 5, 2017, on KM Harapan Sri Jaya in Juwana, Pati, Central Java. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of fishing time and the characteristics of the fishing ground on the catch in Juwana. The method used is survey method, by following the activity of purse seine fishing operations at Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai (PPP) Bajomulyo Unit II. The result of this research concludes that the composition of KM Harapan Sri Jaya catch is dominated by Round scad (Decapterus russelli), followed by Shortfin scad (Decapterus macrosoma), and Spotted sardinella (Amblygaster sirm). Differences of catch by fishing ground, the highest is in the northern waters of Kangean Island, followed by the waters between Matasiri Island and Kangean Island, then the waters of Lumu-lumu Island, and the lowest is in the waters of Pulau Matasiri. Catches differences according to the depth of the waters obtained that the highest catch at depth 69.6 - 77.5 m , followed at a depth of
61.6 - 69.5 m and at a depth of 77.6 - 85.5 m. Difference of catches by sea surface temperature (SPL) obtained that the highest catches is in the temperature range 26.0 0C - 26.9 0C, followed at a temperature of 27.0 0C- 27.9 0C, and at a temperature of 24.0 0C-24.9 0C. Differences of Catches by Time of fishing obtained the highest catch available at 19:00 - 19:59, followed by 22:00
- 22:59 and 02:00 - 02:59.

This research was conducted in the Gulf of Banten from September to December 2015. The primary da... more This research was conducted in the Gulf of Banten from September to December 2015. The primary data was collected in Karangantu Nusantara Fishery Port, Serang. The purpose of research was to investigate aspects of the fishing, biology, gonad maturity, sex ratios and the income of fishermen on blue swimming crab fishery. During the study data collection was done once a week. Sampling was also carried out to measure the length, weight and gonad maturity level of 437 crabs cought by fishermen. The results showed that the average catches were 3.7 kg crabs and 0.86 kg of fishes per fisherman per day. The width of crabs caught in general (85%) were bigger than 10 cm, but there were crabs of with width of less than 10 cm were still caught and traded. The majority of crabs caught had immature gonads level and only about 13% had mature gonads level. Blue swimming crab population in the waters was unbalanced, where the males were much more than females. Fishermen income per month of approximately Rp 2.167 million.

Research was conducted to determine the type and composition of catches of tuna and tuna hook on ... more Research was conducted to determine the type and composition of catches of tuna and tuna hook on a long line rate with different depth of the hook. This kind of tuna fish can be caught using fishing gear types of tuna long line.
Metode analisis digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK). Jenis perlakuannya adalah kedalaman mata pancing dan jumlah ulangan berdasarkan jumlah setting. Bila analisis anova hasil tangkapan berpengaruh terhadap kedalaman mata pancing maka, dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT.
From Big eye tuna catches tend to get caught at depths ranging from 311-331 meters VII as many as 17 male and Yellowfin tuna caught only two tails, while Albakora tend to get caught at the depth level is 5 V and VI tail kadalaman range between 251-307 meters. From the above data show that tuna is widely available in deep V to VIII on the level of depth that is at a depth of 251-341 meters. Catches made during fishing operations more Bigeye tuna are dominated by as many as 49 fishes. Analysis of variance to the total tuna catches with eight levels of depth of the hook and hauling 20 times, obtaining the results of Fhit = 3.25 and 2.01, because Fhit = 3.25 and 2.01 Ftab = 1.88 and 2.51 means statistics provide a depth effect of the hook to catch a very different reality. In the arrest operation carried out over 20 times the highest setting hook rate obtained is equal to 1.09% with a total tuna catches as many as 15 tails, while for the lowest hook rate that is equal to 0 or do not get caught at all. Hook the average rate over 20 times the setting is 0.249%.
