Natural montmorillonite from Bogovina (Boljevac municipality, Serbia) was used for organic modification in this experiment. Cation exchange capacity of this montmorillonite (86 mmol 100 g ¡1 of clay) was determined using the methylene blue method. In pretreatment, montmorillonite was modified with NaCl. For the purpose of organic modification, three different concentrations of phenyltrimethylammonium chloride (PTMA) have been selected, based on calculated CEC value: 43 mmol 100 g ¡1 of clay (0.5 CEC), 86 mmol 100 g ¡1 of clay (1 CEC) and 129 mmol 100 g ¡1 of clay (1.5 CEC). The changes in the properties of the inorganic and organic modified montmorillonite were examined using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and batch equilibrium method. Freundlich coefficients show higher uptake of the herbicide by montmorillonite modified with PTMA, compared to inorganic-modified montmorillonite. The results also indicate the influence of the organic cation concentration on the adsorption of the selected herbicide.

The objective of the studies was conventional tillage (disc harrow, plough, seedbed conditioner), reduced tillage (rotary shredder) and direct drilling (direct drill seeder). The analysis of variance performed for the yield shows significant differences among observed tillage systems carried out on chernozem. The highest yield of 12.39 t·ha-1 was obtained by conventional tillage. Yields obtained by reduced tillage and direct drilling were lower and amounted to 11.03 t·ha-1 and 10.03 t·ha-1, respectively. The conventional tillage system provided the most favorable porosity with the average value of 51.08%. With no statistical significant differences, the porous to solid phase ratio was somewhat less favorable in soil tilled by the rotary shredder (50.47 vol.%), while it was significantly lower in the variant of direct drilling (48.12 vol.%).

In addition to basic fertilisation, it is possible to fertilise maize during the growing season with different types of fertilisers and their formulation. Leaf fertilisation provides plants fast uptake and utilisation of micro and macroelements, which contributes to better crop condition. The aim of this study was to test effects of two formulations of foliar mineral fertilisers applied at the 5-6 and 10-12 leaf stage, on the leaf area, height and yield of five maize inbred lines. The application of foliar fertilisers affected the increase of the average height and leaf area. Treatments with foliar fertilisers increased maize yields in comparison to control.

The trial was set up according to the block design in four variants: rainfed variant and three variants of the maintenance of soil moisture at the level of 80-85%, 70-75% and 60-65% of the field water capacity (FWC). Results show that the soil moisture regime very significantly affected the maize ear formation. The highest average values of the ear weight (389.2 g) and the grain weight per ear (320.3 g) were recorded in the variant 80-85% FWC. In relation to this value, values of the remaining variants were very significantly lower. A functional parabolic dependence of ear and grain weights on the water amount was established. With the total amount of water that got to the soil surface (x-510 mm) it can be expected that the ear of 370 g i...

There are two principal approaches in the tractor development: 1) development according to adopted categorization and standardization at the country level, and 2) development based on the concepts of manufacturers. This is a reason for the increased number of different tractors types in the markets, which requires scientific and profession knowledge in their selection. The existing categorization and standardizations of tractors in Serbia absolutely corresponds to the modern tractor production, hence they are main support for the adequate choice of tractors that are suitable for our conditions of agricultural production. The modern tractor production includes a standard weight and variable ballast that is added to a tractor in dependence on its purpose. The trend of modern tractor production is directed to the increase of tractor engi...

Research paper thumbnail of ORGANSKA POLJOPRIVREDNA PROIZVODNJA - osnove planiranja i analiza poslovanja -

Monografija koju prezentujemo naučnoj i stručnoj javnosti pod naslovom ORGANSKA POLJOPRIVREDNA P... more Monografija koju prezentujemo naučnoj i stručnoj javnosti pod naslovom ORGANSKA POLJOPRIVREDNA PROIZVODNJA-osnove planiranja i analiza poslovanja, je rezultat zajedničkog rada prof. dr Zorice J. Sredojević i prof. dr Snežane I. Oljače, redovnih profesora Poljoprivrednog fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu i dr Branke J. Kresović, višeg naučnog saradnika Instituta za kukuruz u Zemun Polju.
