This study aims to analyze students' digital literacy in the context of learning biology mate... more This study aims to analyze students' digital literacy in the context of learning biology material on the digestive system and identify students' digital literacy in terms of interest in digital technology, internet costs, gender, and learning outcomes. The research was conducted at one private high school in Medan, Indonesia. The instrument used is a questionnaire and a list of student grades from the teacher. The results showed that students interested in digital technology had a significantly higher digital literacy score than students who had less interest in digital technology. There was no significant difference in digital literacy between groups of students with internet fees < US$ 14 per month and students with internet fees of US$ 14 per month, and between groups of male and female students. The result of the analysis also found a positive correlation between learning outcomes and digital literacy.

The purpose of this study is to improve the quality of education in Islamic boarding school throu... more The purpose of this study is to improve the quality of education in Islamic boarding school through learning using Innovative Smart Orbital (ISO) media for physics teachers in Islamic boarding schools and Physics Teacher Forum (PTF) using RapidMiner. This training is for physics teachers who are members of the PTF as a learning application as the demands of the industrial revolution 4.0. The study method is an experiment with a sample of 352 teachers, the age 30-45 years, with using a questionnaire instrument. However, curriculum changes often have obstacles in their implementation. This study aims to analyze the learning environment in biology classes from the perspective of inquiry learning, as one of the most recommended science learning approaches. The research uses descriptive methods, with a population of 121 students from five environmental biology classes who have fully implemented the IQF curriculum. Samples taken by cluster random sampling method obtained two classes with a total of 46 students. Data obtained from questionnaires and learning outcomes documents. The results showed that biology learning activities had a level of conformity with inquiry learning in the "sufficient" category. The research employed a quasi-experiment method, and the sample was taken using a randomized sampling technique. Tingkat kesesuaian pelaksanaan pembejaran dapat memberikan petunjuk dalam memprediksi implikasi proses pembelajaran yang telah dilakukan terhadap ujian nasional. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Sebagai partisipan adalah sepuluh orang guru biologi dari tujuh SMA Negeri di Kota Bandung. Sampling SMA dilakukan dengan teknik stratified random sampling yang mewakili tiga cluster SMA. Kompetensi dasar yang dianalisis adalah KD materi Plantae kelas X dan sistem ekskresi kelas XI. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kuasi eksperimen tipe the matching only posttest only control group design. Kegiatan simulasi praktikum dengan self assessment dilakukan dengan memberikan kriteria-kriteria kemampuan dasar yang harus dikuasai dalam melakukan pengamatan toleransi osmotik sel darah merah (eritrosit) dan preparat sel darah putih (leukosit). Dendrocygna javanica (Horsfield, 1821) is a member of the family Anatidae, the order of Anserifor... more Dendrocygna javanica (Horsfield, 1821) is a member of the family Anatidae, the order of Anseriformes, class of Aves, phylum Chordata, of kingdom Animalia. This species is commonly called the Lesser Whistling-duck because it flies in a noisy sound. In Indonesia, it is known as Belibis Batu. Dendrocygna javanica is spread in the regions of Asia including Indonesia. In Indonesia, D. javanica is spread on the islands of Sumatra, Kalimantan, Java, East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara. This study aims to create a distribution model of Dendrocygna javanica based on habitat characteristics in North Sumatra, Indonesia, using GIS (Geographic Information System). A total of 35 distribution points of D. javanica in 8 districts in North Sumatra were analyzed using ArcGis 10.3 software to analyze habitat characteristics. The results showed that D. javanica spread on habitat characteristics Rainfall ranged from 1500-3500 mm/year, 5 soil types namely ferric acrisols (4 points), humic acrisols (4 points), dystric cambisols (2 points), orthic ferrasols (5 point), and dystric fluvisols (20 points), 7 types of land cover namely dryland forest (2 points), plantation (5 points), dryland agriculture (10 points), rice fields (2 points), swamp (4 points), plus (4 points), and body of water (8 points), and are at an elevation of 3-1072 meters above sea level. Dendrocygna javanica is spread in a limited area. This research is expected to be an important source of information in the conservation of D. javanica in North Sumatra

It started from licensing arrangements, handover of equipment and mentoring stage. This activity was carried out with the "Ubay" Meatball Milling Business Partner in Dolok Malela, Gunung Malela District. The need for meatball molding machines, meat grinding machines, and airtight plastic presses fulfilled. Besides, the meatball printing machine makes the meatballs produced the same size and the meatballs produced are smoother in texture. Furthermore, the provision of the airtight plastic press oriented to the stage of business expansion to preparing meatballs in the form of frozen meatballs. The method used to achieve the objectives of this service is the method of education, outreach and product standardization assistance. The output is grinding machines, meatball molding machines with standard size meatballs, knowledge of healthy and hygienic meatball-making procedures. Innovation is in making black meatballs and preparing meatballs for frozen food.

Penelitian ini dilakukan pada mahasiswa pendidikan biologi di Universitas Negeri Medan semester V tahun akademik 2018/2019 yang telah mengampu mata kuliah Taksonomi Organisme Tingkat Rendah yang berjumlah 110 orang. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif jenis survei dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa angket dan lembar observasi. However, the effect of different levels of inquiry on science process skills has not received much attention. This study aims to see the effect of the implementation of guided and structured inquiry on students&#39; Science Process Skills. The quasi-experimental method was carried out with the posttest-only control group Randomized design in two classes of Biology&#39;s first-year students. Data were collected with a process skill observation sheet for one semester of lectures. The results showed that both types of inquiry learning showed similar achievement patterns for the types of process skills observed, but generally guided inquiry showed better results. The average score of science process skills in structured inquiry classes was 71.67, while in guided inquiry classes was 78.06. Another interesting finding is that the two types of inquiry learning produce similar performance patterns for the type of process skills observed. The sequence of the type of process skills that are most mastered in both classes is to observe, conclude, classify and communicate. Inquiry learning is able to develop science process skills well, but differences in learning experiences that are more open to guided inquiry are thought to be an explanation of the difference in achievement of process skills between the two types of inquiry. Tingkat kesesuaian pelaksanaan pembejaran dapat memberikan petunjuk dalam memprediksi implikasi proses pembelajaran yang telah dilakukan terhadap ujian nasional. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Sebagai partisipan adalah sepuluh orang guru biologi dari tujuh SMA Negeri di Kota Bandung. Sampling SMA dilakukan dengan teknik stratified random sampling yang mewakili tiga cluster SMA. Kompetensi dasar yang dianalisis adalah KD materi Plantae kelas X dan sistem ekskresi kelas XI. Data diperoleh dari observasi pembelajaran, studi dokumen dan kuisioner. Kegiatan simulasi praktikum dengan self assessment dilakukan dengan memberikan kriteria-kriteria kemampuan dasar yang harus dikuasai dalam melakukan pengamatan toleransi osmotik sel darah merah (eritrosit) dan preparat sel darah putih (leukosit). Dendrocygna javanica (Horsfield, 1821) is a member of the family Anatidae, the order of Anserifor... more Dendrocygna javanica (Horsfield, 1821) is a member of the family Anatidae, the order of Anseriformes, class of Aves, phylum Chordata, of kingdom Animalia. This species is commonly called the Lesser Whistling-duck because it flies in a noisy sound. In Indonesia, it is known as Belibis Batu. Dendrocygna javanica is spread in the regions of Asia including Indonesia. In Indonesia, D. javanica is spread on the islands of Sumatra, Kalimantan, Java, East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara. This study aims to create a distribution model of Dendrocygna javanica based on habitat characteristics in North Sumatra, Indonesia, using GIS (Geographic Information System). A total of 35 distribution points of D. javanica in 8 districts in North Sumatra were analyzed using ArcGis 10.3 software to analyze habitat characteristics. The results showed that D. javanica spread on habitat characteristics Rainfall ranged from 1500-3500 mm/year, 5 soil types namely ferric acrisols (4 points), humic acrisols (4 points), dystric cambisols (2 points), orthic ferrasols (5 point), and dystric fluvisols (20 points), 7 types of land cover namely dryland forest (2 points), plantation (5 points), dryland agriculture (10 points), rice fields (2 points), swamp (4 points), plus (4 points), and body of water (8 points), and are at an elevation of 3-1072 meters above sea level. Dendrocygna javanica is spread in a limited area. This research is expected to be an important source of information in the conservation of D. javanica in North Sumatra

This activity was carried out with the "Ubay" Meatball Milling Business Partner in Dolok Malela, Gunung Malela District. The need for meatball molding machines, meat grinding machines, and airtight plastic presses fulfilled. Besides, the meatball printing machine makes the meatballs produced the same size and the meatballs produced are smoother in texture. Furthermore, the provision of the airtight plastic press oriented to the stage of business expansion to preparing meatballs in the form of frozen meatballs. The method used to achieve the objectives of this service is the method of education, outreach and product standardization assistance. The output is grinding machines, meatball molding machines with standard size meatballs, knowledge of healthy and hygienic meatball-making procedures. Innovation is in making black meatballs and preparing meatballs for frozen food.

However, the effect of different levels of inquiry on science process skills has not received much attention. This study aims to see the effect of the implementation of guided and structured inquiry on students&#39; Science Process Skills. The quasi-experimental method was carried out with the posttest-only control group Randomized design in two classes of Biology&#39;s first-year students. Data were collected with a process skill observation sheet for one semester of lectures. The results showed that both types of inquiry learning showed similar achievement patterns for the types of process skills observed, but generally guided inquiry showed better results. The average score of science process skills in structured inquiry classes was 71.67, while in guided inquiry classes was 78.06. Another interesting finding is that the two types of inquiry learning produce similar performance patterns for the type of process skills observed. The sequence of the type of process skills that are most mastered in both classes is to observe, conclude, classify and communicate. Inquiry learning is able to develop science process skills well, but differences in learning experiences that are more open to guided inquiry are thought to be an explanation of the difference in achievement of process skills between the two types of inquiry.
