The types of conflicts, contexts, and ethical dilemmas involved were categorised. Pedagogical tools and their effect on self-knowledge, perspectivetaking, and socio-moral sensitivity and reflection were favourably assessed. The emotional understanding component of empathy significantly improved. The results support a more comprehensive training of future teachers.

This research offers a classification of student profiles according to their knowledge and use of Smartphones, and analyzes their relationship between their interest towards training, the perceived academic benefits and the time spent using the device as a pedagogic resource. For this, through a quantitative methodology, a cluster analysis was conducted, which allowed for the defining of student profiles, and through non-parametric tests, the significance was analyzed with respect to their interest in training, the academic benefits perceived, and the time spent using the Smartphone. The results showed the existence of three profiles, namely: High degree of knowledge and academic use of the Smartphone; Average degree of knowledge and use of the Smartphone; and Low degree of knowledge and use of the Smart...

Given the role of schools in youth acculturation and adaptation, it is important to detect the variables related to successful academic adaptation of adolescents. The sample comprised of 938 South American, African and Spanish adolescents who settled in Spain. Correlation analyses showed that age, social self-efficacy, academic self-concept, attribution style and intrinsic satisfaction were related. ANOVAs revealed that girls displayed a greater tendency to attribute their outcomes to internal factors than boys. Furthermore, older and Spanish adolescents displayed lower levels of intrinsic satisfaction than younger and immigrant adolescents. Path analyses found that social self-efficacy and academic self-concept were the best predictors of intrinsic satisfaction. Therefore, the promotion of social self-efficacy and academic self-concept should increase intrinsic satisfaction in schools. In addition, research into the role of cultural origin in self-regulation in schools may be necessary.

The present study explores the impact of a training program focusing on social and emotional learning, implemented in a pre-service teacher curriculum. Using an experiential and collaborative methodology, an attempt is made to develop emotional skills (self-esteem, empathy, affect), as well as their social skills (assertiveness, communication skills). A quasi-experimental study was conducted with 250 students who completed several well-known scales in pre-test, post-test assessment, and control groups. After controlling for personality traits, the findings point to significant effects in favor of the experimental group, who increased self-esteem, empathy, and confidence when speaking in public, while fear of public speaking, and negative affect was seen to decrease significantly.

However, a review of the literature reveals a lack of tools for assessing the quality of USV. Thus, our research question was: how can we evaluate the efficacy of volunteer programs in higher education? This article follows a qualitative methodology through an evaluative case study of the creation of a set of instruments for the comprehensive diagnostic of USV (ICD-USV) with a 360° perspective, which provide feedback and feedforward for the development of USV, thus offering indicators of its quality. The application of the ICD-USV at a Spanish university and the participation of one volunteer student, five participating entities' technicians and two USV unit managers allowed for the identification of new analysis criteria for the adequate management of a USV program. Measures that could be used to guarantee the quality of basic, pedagogic, logistic...
