The Industrial Revolution 4.0, which makes the internet its backbone, has accelerated the process... more The Industrial Revolution 4.0, which makes the internet its backbone, has accelerated the process due to the Covid-19 pandemic which forced citizens to shift all their activities to the digital world, including the involvement of citizens in responding to public discourse. Citizens' public discourses that previously took place in real public spaces have now shifted to digital spaces, one of which is social media. To bridge these changes, a conceptualization of civic engagement is needed through a digital platform. The online citizen involvement was later referred to as online civic engagement, namely civic engagement activities specifically carried out by digital citizens involving several types of digital media, one of which is social media. This literature study provides a clearer picture of the forms of community interaction through social media that go beyond what is known as “slacktivism”. Artikel ini membahas tentang Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan yang diselenggarakan di jenjang Sekolah M... more Artikel ini membahas tentang Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan yang diselenggarakan di jenjang Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) dilihat dari tinjauan filosofis, sosiologis, yuridis, dan psikologis.Sebagai program kurikuler, pendidikan Kewarganegaraan menjadi satu mata pelajaran di sekolah dasar dan menengah yang memiliki tugas profesional untuk membina siswa agar menjadi generasi penerus yang sebagaimana diharapkan bangsa dan negara dalam konteks pembinaan generasi muda menjadi seorang warga negara yang baik. Oleh karenanya pendidikan kewarganegaran khususnya di jenjang SMP mengemban misi nasional untuk mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa Indonesia melalui koridor “ value based education ”. Secara filosofis pendidikan kewarganegaraan memiliki visi holistik-eklektis yang memadukan secara serasi pandangan perenialisme, esensialisme, progresifisme, dan sosiorekonstruksionisme dalam konteks keindonesiaan. Advances in information technology in the industrial revolution 4.0 era have fundamentally change... more Advances in information technology in the industrial revolution 4.0 era have fundamentally changed the involvement of citizens in public affairs. Included also in the form of political participation. The emergence of social media since the early 2000s, has provided a way to reduce the costs of their involvement, improve its quality, and / or improve the types of activities involved. However, there was an anomaly in the use of social media as a venue for channeling aspirations. Social media is a place to produce and reproduce false news. It would be very dangerous if the involvement of citizens, especially young citizens is based on hoax news. This article has been written using the literature review method, which is a method of finding a description of theories, findings, and other research materials obtained from reference materials to be used as a basis for activities in research. The results of this article are; First, young people interpret political participation not only in elections but other unconventional ways such as making online petitions, criticizing governments through social media, or even fundraising movements for people who do not get justice. Second, in participating in the era of social media, young citizens must be equipped with civic literacy. Civic literacy is the knowledge and ability of citizens to overcome social, political and state issues. Civic literacy is closely related to political awareness; namely the ability of citizens to understand (informed about) and sensitive (sensitive) to the political, social and economic aspects of their society.

This article discusses the urgency of civic disposition in citizenship education curriculum in or... more This article discusses the urgency of civic disposition in citizenship education curriculum in order to shape citizen character. Civic disposition is a the most substantive and essential element of citizenship education. In this matter it is intended that good citizen is the target. But, in the course of time, it is evidenced that citizenship education curriculum is intervened by rezim. The feature of a good citizenship means differently to different regime. It is recommended that the reoriented of this curriculum is intended to release the interest and power of rezim by placing Pancasila and 1945 Constitution.

The research was an explorative research deploying interview and questionnaire as collecting data... more The research was an explorative research deploying interview and questionnaire as collecting data methods. Collected data was analyzed descriptive qualitatively. The research found that (1) although respondents have different conceptions of good citizens, they have shared view on main features of good citizen, namely caring others, responsibility, independence, democratic, critical, and simple life; (2) almost all of them have chosen lecturing as instructional method to develop good citizen; (3) they have found both internal and external obstacles in dealing with their efforts, such as teachers themselves and students and the lack of infrastructures of schools; and (4) many efforts were deployed, one of them was of seduction their colleagues to work professionally. They believed that it was not thought but caught by which a good citizen could be developed. They were ready to be examples.
