Research paper thumbnail of Effect of Hypno-Pressure on Mean Arterial Pressure in Patients with Cardiovascular Disorders

The Malaysian journal of nursing, 2023

INTRODUCTION Cardiovascular disorders and changes in the value of MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure), b... more INTRODUCTION Cardiovascular disorders and changes in the value of MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure), both show a causal relationship (Bahall, 2015; Aaronson, Ward, & Connolly, 2012). Changes in MAP values become a risk factor for cardiovascular disorders and vice versa. Cardiovascular disorders will cause changes in MAP values, this condition will become a serious problem for the patient's prognosis (Nurarif, & Kusuma 2015). Hypnosis is an independent nursing intervention, used to achieve relaxation, reduce anxiety, blood pressure, fear and discomfort by manipulating the mindset (Kubzansky et al., 1998, Ghorpade et al., 2015). Acupressure is a technique of suppression, massage, and /or sequencing along the body's meridian lines that allows the flow of energy, which must be increased to a healthier condition, resulting in physiological changes in the body (Nguyen, et al., 2013; Nowbar, et.al., 2014; Salim, 2015). Hypnopressure will get system support through mindset and neural pathways. System support is given by using positive affirmations in a series of hypnotherapy, with the aim of activating the subconscious while acupressure will be a stimulus that is carried by the peripheral nerve pathways to the central nervous system (Mittleman et al., 2015). Hypnosis and acupressure are independent nursing interventions that can be carried out by trained and certified nurses. Hypnosis and acupressure can be used to manage a variety of signs and symptoms that arise from a disease or health problem, including increased MAP values that occur in patients with cardiovascular disorders (Grant, et al., 2012, Tully & Baune, 2014). Furthermore, the combination of hypnosis and acupressure is called hypno-pressure. Measurement of success of the results of interventions in patients is done by looking at the effects before and after hypno-pressure. Therefore, in order to know the presence or absence of hypno-pressure effects on MAP in patients with cardiovascular disorders scientifically, it is necessary to conduct this study. METHODOLOGY Research design This research is a quasi-experiment with pretest-posttest control group research.

This research was quasy experiment. The subjects were 80 homes with attached 200 ovitrap consisting of 100 pieces ovitrap modified: hay infusion 10% and 100 pieces of modified ovitrap: water wells at four RT in the Village Tembalang and Bulusan. The result showed that the rate of HI, CI, BI and ABJ on modified ovitrap: hay infusion 10% higher than the modified ovitrap: water wells. The results found significant differences between the modified ovitrap with hay soaking water modified ovitrap: water wells to the number of larvae (p = 0.001). It is recommended that communities should play an active role in eradicating the mosquito Aedes aegypti with installation ovitrap modified to reduce Aedes aegypti mosquito populations by breaking the cycle of life.

The number of elderly who has dementia from year by year showed an increase. Dementia that is not treated properly will get worse to Alzheimer's. However, until now there has been no research that shows in what age range brain exercise has an effect or impact to reduce the level of dementia in the elderly. Purpose: To analyze the effect of brain gymnastics on decreasing the level of dementia in different elderly groups. Methods: The research design was quasi experimental with non-randomized control group. The number of respondents was 45 respondents. The respondents were intervented with brain gymnastic. The instrument used was a Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) questionnaire. Data were analised using kruskal wallis and Mann Whitney test. Results: The results of the three groups research before and after given brain gymnastics showed that there were significant changes. Old elderly make a significant difference with a p value of 0,000 (p < 0.05). Mann Whitney test result obtained pre and old elderly with p value < 0.001. Conclusion: Brain gymnastics affects the decrease level of dementia in different age groups of elderly.

One of the measures for the prevention of myocardial infarction is oxygen therapy. Oxygen therapy aims to maintain adequate tissue oxygenation fixed and can reduce myocardial work due to lack of oxygen supply. This study was conducted to determine the effect of oxygen therapy on the value of oxygen saturation through oximetri examination in patients of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in the emergency room in Dr. Moewardi hospital Surakarta. Method: This study used quantitative research using pre-experimental design with one group pre test-post test design. Samples involved in this study amounted to 38 respondents using Quota Sampling. Result: The results showed that prior to oxygen therapy oxygen saturation values obtained all the respondents were 38 (100%) experienced mild hypoxia, and after being given oxygen therapy obtained a total of 32 (84.2%) of respondents who experienced an increase in oxygen saturation of mild hypoxia and as many as 6 (15.8%) respondents remained in mild hypoxia. Results of statistical tests using the Wilcoxon test significance value p = 0.000 (p = <0,05). Making the hypothesis Ho is rejected which means no effect of oxygen therapy to changes in oxygen saturation values through oximetri examination in patients acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Suggest: Given the importance of oxygen therapy in patients with acute myocardial infarction, it is expected that the role of nurses to monitor all the time and consider providing oxygen therapy to a higher concentration of eg nonrebreathing mask with a mask (NR) to improve the process of ventilation with FiO2 higher.
