The paper aims at taking advantage of the experience gathered in teaching the crawl technique to young sportsmen suffering from Down's syndrome. The experiment has involved three young sportsmen, aged between 18 and 25, from Bucharest, who already knew how to float, to glide and to breathe in the water. The observation was the research method applied for this study. The study continued eight months and included one lesson of 60 minutes/week. The evaluation of the level of learning the swimming technique was completed every four weeks. It consisted in progression items proposed by Special Olympics Quick Start Guide-Aquatics (2004), adapted and changed by us. Through swimming...

The term Moyamoya comes from the Japanese language and means "puff smoke". This describes the arteriography of cerebral artery changes, which emit numerous small-diameter collateral vessels with fragile walls. The diagnosis of Moyamoya disease is established after excluding other genetic or congenital causes of such vascular malformations. These vessels with increased fragility often have parietal lesions at increased risk of rupture and secondary stroke. In the present paper we aim to present the case of a child diagnosed with the Moyamoya disease who suffered two vascular accidents and is currently in the recovery process. The treatment is complex and consists of surgery and rehabilitation. Depending on the location of the cerebral malformations, clin...
