La presión social y de las industrias induce la expansión de superficies urbanas de manera rápida... more La presión social y de las industrias induce la expansión de superficies urbanas de manera rápida y sin planificación. Aunado a ello, las discrepancias en documentos oficiales y la ausencia de herramientas adecuadas de planificación a nivel federal, estatal y municipal dificulta la distribución del uso de suelo y el manejo sustentable de territorios. Las ciudades demandan cada vez más agua y en contraste, disminuyen su infiltración hacia los mantos acuíferos debido a la expansión de la mancha urbana. Por ello es prioritario fomentar el trabajo multidisciplinario en la planeación urbana.

Species delimitation studies based on integrative taxonomic approaches have received considerable... more Species delimitation studies based on integrative taxonomic approaches have received considerable attention in the last few years, and have provided the strongest hypotheses of species boundaries. We used three lines of evidence (molecular, morphological, and niche envelopes) to test for species boundaries in Peruvian populations of the Liolaemus walkeri complex. Our results show that different lines of evidence and analyses are congruent in different combinations, for unambiguous delimitation of three lineages that were “hidden” within known species, and now deserve species status. Our phylogenetic analysis shows that L. walkeri, L. tacnae and the three new species are strongly separated from other species assigned to the alticolor-bibronii group. Few conventional morphological characters distinguish the new species from closely related taxa and this highlights the need to integrate other sources of data to erect strong hypothesis of species limits. A taxonomic key for known Peruvian species of the subgenus Lioalemus is provided

The present work describes the reconstruction of a tank of liquid sulfur with a capacity of 7,500... more The present work describes the reconstruction of a tank of liquid sulfur with a capacity of 7,500 metric tons, which has its interior serpentines operating as heat exchangers, the steam that flows into the coils exchanges heat with liquid sulfur. This tank is located in the Maritime Terminal of Storage and Distribution of Sulfur in the port of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico. The container had a useful life of more than 40 years and had high energy consumption for the exchange of heat between steam and sulfur. In addition, it had structural wear due to years of operation without adequate maintenance, which represented a technical and environmental risk. The objective of this work is to make the modifications corresponding to the tank specifically in the thermal insulation, which has been replaced by one with a lower coefficient of heat transfer and greater efficiency, the foundation is modified to guarantee a greater structural support, the traps of steam were replaced to take advantage of a greater heat transfer, the tank is reconstructed in its entirety (Base, walls and dome). With the modifications, steam consumption for the operation of the tank was reduced from approximately 14 tons to 11 tons of steam per day. In addition, the sulfur temperature increased from 126°C to 139 °C, this allows complying with export parameters abroad that are 133°C for sale.

It presents a case of a healthy woman of 28 years with a tumor in his leg attached to soft tissue... more It presents a case of a healthy woman of 28 years with a tumor in his leg attached to soft tissue, she doesn’t have epidemiological history of travel outside Lima, without pulmonary, hepatic or systemic disease and with negative serology for Equinococcus granulosus before, during and after the surgical excision. In a first opportunity, they removed tumor and they didn’t suspect of hydatidosis so they didn’t give a proper treatment, so 16 weeks after, she came back with a relapse, where with a specific diagnosis was performed the surgery and treatment with albendazole, followed up after six months, the patient didn’t have recurrence.

The era of big data has led to the emergence of new systems for real-time distributed stream proc... more The era of big data has led to the emergence of new systems for real-time distributed stream processing. Apache Storm is one of the most popular stream processing systems today. However, Storm, as many other stream processing systems, lacks an intelligent scheduling mechanism. The default round-robin scheduling which disregards inter-node traffic and worker nodes load balancing may be inefficient sometimes. This paper proposed a real-time scheduling algorithm based on inter-node traffic and worker nodes load balancing within Storm. Algorithm is divided into two steps: In the first step according to the topology structure and inter-node traffic, executors are assigned to slots to ensure the minimum interaction traffic. The second step, we consider the worker nodes load, to choose the lowest load node for slots assignment. Experiments demonstrate that this scheduling algorithm compared to the default scheduling algorithm, performance of average latency and average inter-node traffic in the system improved above 50%, and compared the traffic-based scheduling algorithm, improved about 10%.

Es probable que quienes han conducido un vehículo automotriz hayan detectado ruidos anormales en ... more Es probable que quienes han conducido un vehículo automotriz hayan detectado ruidos anormales en el motor, semejantes a pequeñas explosiones en el interior. Efectivamente, los vehículos de encendido por chispa suelen experimentar detonaciones prematuras en el pistón, lo que resulta severamente perjudicial para los componentes internos del motor y reduce su rendimiento. Este fenómeno está directamente relacionado con la calidad del combustible suministrado, que, entre otros factores, está determinado por el octanaje. A mayor número de octano, mayor será la calidad de la gasolina y menor será el daño en el motor. En el presente trabajo se describe el proceso de reformación catalítica, con el cual se incrementa el número de octano de la gasolina, así como la importancia de optimizar dicho proceso para el cuidado del motor y del medio ambiente.

Three new species of Liolaemus belonging to the L. montanus group are described from Perú. Two ne... more Three new species of Liolaemus belonging to the L. montanus group are described from Perú. Two new species are restricted to the Ica and Moquegua departments on the Pacific coast, and one new species is only known from an isolated highland in Ayacucho department. These three new species differ from closely related species in their coloration patterns and head shape. We comment on the conservation issues of the new species and other Peruvian species of the L. montanus group.

Because of anthropogenic impacts on the trophic state of Tecocomulco´s lagoon in Hidalgo, Mexico,... more Because of anthropogenic impacts on the trophic state of Tecocomulco´s lagoon in Hidalgo, Mexico, the quantities of nitrogen, phosphorus, and other biologically useful nutrients are being increased in spite of they are the primary determinants of a body of water's trophic state index. Nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus tend to be limiting resources in standing water bodies, so increased concentrations tend to result in increased plant growth, followed by corollary increases in subsequent trophic levels. Consequently, a body of water's trophicindex may sometimes be used to make a rough estimate of its biological condition. Actually, in order to protect the environment, a new level of planning and execution of development projects have been originated by life cycle assessment, environmental impact researchesand evaluating economic financial researches due to the understanding that, environment will be irreversible damaged by any kind ofproject.

In this paper we report U-Pb zircon ages from a syn-tectonic magmatism related to a contractional... more In this paper we report U-Pb zircon ages from a syn-tectonic magmatism related to a contractional thickskinned deformation pulse in the Mexican Fold and Thrust Belt. The study area corresponds to the Concepción del Oro Block (COB), which is located in northern Zacatecas, Mexico. The COB is a NW-SE trending elongated tectonic structure located south of the Parras Transversal Sector in the Mexican Fold Thrust Belt (MFTB) in north-central Mexico. In this area, regional thinskinned folds were formed between the late Turonian and Campanian and they define the core of a major northeastward-convex orocline around Concepción del Oro mining district, Zacatecas, Mexico. The regional folds were cut by four Eocene-early Oligocene plutons (43-32 Ma; U-Pb zircon), which in places modified the older thinskinned structures. Magma was emplaced along thrust faults and modified the attitude of inverted limbs of overturned folds, and the orientation or position of the fold axis at the core of anticlines, causing the formation of complex emplacementrelated deformation. Two NW-SE trending lineaments bound the COB, and both cut the periclinal ends of the thinskinned older folds, at different time. The eastern lineament is here interpreted as a high angle reverse fault, which tilted polymictic conglomeratic continental succession that includes cobbles derived from one of the
