The experiments were laid out in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 11 treatments and 3 replications. Yield attributing characters viz. effective tillers, filled grains panicle-1 and grain and straw yields of rice were significantly influenced by nutrient omission treatments. The omission of N, P, S and Zn resulted in significant reductions in yield attributing parameters and grain and straw yields. Highest grain and straw yields (16.01 and 30.57 g pot-1) were recorded with the treatment receiving all the nutrients whereas the lowest with omission of N (18.01 and 32.58 g pot-1) followed by P, S and Zn omission. The omission of N reduced the grain yield by 47.64% while P omission reduced grain yield by 40.82% over the treatment receiving...

Research paper thumbnail of Response of Zinc Application on Aerobic Rice in Inceptisols of Raigarh District in Chhattisgarh Plains

Field experiments was conducted in kharif 2016 at the Instructional Farm of Krishi Vigyan Kendra,... more Field experiments was conducted in kharif 2016 at the Instructional Farm of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Raigarh (C.G.), to find out the effect of different levels of zinc (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 kg Zn SO4 ha-1) on yield, economics and Zn uptake by rice. The results revealed that the rice responded significantly to graded doses of zinc application. The highest grain (4.85 t ha-1) and straw yield (6.58 t ha-1) was recorded at 25 kg ZnSO4 ha-1 which was 50.62 % and 20.73 % greater than control, respectively. The highest zinc concentration (22.50 mg kg-1, 46.40 mg kg-1) and uptake (109.12 g ha-1, 305.97 g ha-1) in grain and straw were recorded at 25 kg ZnSO4 ha-1. The highest apparent zinc recovery(2.48 %) was recorded at lower level of zinc application. However. increasing levels of Zn increased available Zn (1.42 mg kg-1) in post harvest soil was noted at 30 kg Zn SO4 ha-1. All growth and yield parameters were performed better under 25 kg Zn SO4 ha-1. Net returns (Rs.38065.00 ha-1) and...

Research paper thumbnail of Soil test crop response based fertilizer prescriptions under integrated plant nutrient supply for targeted yield of potato (Solanum tuberosum L) in Inceptisols

The fertilizer adjustment equations were derived by the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP), College of Agriculture, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.). The nutrient requirement (NR), contribution of nutrients from soil (CS), fertilizer (CF) and farm yard manure (CFYM) were computed using the data on soil test values, fertilizer nutrients doses, nutrient uptake and potato yield. The amount of nutrient required (NR) to produce one quintal of tuber production was found to be 0.42 kg N, 0.11 kg P and 0.45 kg K. The per cent contribution from fertilizer (CF) for N, P and K was estimated 31.27,22.06 and 82.93 per cen...

The soil of experimental field was clayey (Vertisols) in texture, locally known as “Kanhar” which was low, medium and high in available N, P2O5 and K2O respectively. The experiment was laid out factorial randomized block design with three replication. The treatment consisted of 12 nutritional schedule viz., T175% of RDF, T275% of RDF + Rhizobium + PSB, T375% of RDF + FYM @ 5 t ha -1 , T4100% of RDF, T5100% of RDF + Rhizobium + PSB, T6100% of RDF + FYM @ 5 t ha -1 ,T7125% RDF, T8125% of RDF + Rhizobium + PSB, T9125% of RDF + FYM @ 5 t ha -1 , T10Rhizobium + PSB, T11FYM @ 5 t ha -1 and T12Absolute control and two varieties viz. V1JS 93-05 and V2JS 97-52. The results revealed that various growth parameters and yield attributin...

Research paper thumbnail of Effect of drumstick leaves supplementation for treating iron deficiency anemia in adolescence girls

Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry, 2020

The present study was carried out on iron deficiency anemia in adolescence girls through suppleme... more The present study was carried out on iron deficiency anemia in adolescence girls through supplementation of drumstick leaves powder. Anemia is one of the most common causes of malnutrition and it has a great public health significance affecting children, adolescents and women of reproductive age worldwide. Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is highly prevalent among the adolescence girls and women mainly from lower socio economic status. Nearly 80% of the women with anemia suffer from Iron deficiency anemia (IDA). This study was done with the intention of finding an efficient substitute in the form of non heam iron of vegetable origin, dry drumstick leaves powder by administering as supplementation to treat anemia. At present it is being 20 anemic adolescence girls was selected belonging to lower socio-economic status, aged between 13-15 years were target population. Using convenient sampling technique of 20 girls suffering from Iron deficiency anemia was selected. Based on the signs and ...

The experiment was laid out in a factorial randomized block design with three factor and three replications with total one hundred forty four soil sample. The soil physical properties includes bulk density which was higher at nearby site (10 m) of the studied area while particle density and porosity percentage were higher at closer site (10 m site) of the area. The particle density of the analyzed soil sample was higher at 10 m site and lower at control site. Porosity percentage was inversely related with the bulk density. Soils of the nearby site (10 m) of the studied area were sandy clay to silty clay loam. The factor A and factor B of the studied area showed non-significant result in case of all three properties i.e., bulk density, particle density and porosity percentage. The yield of rice crop and their straw were low at nearby site (10 m) of the studied area.

Research paper thumbnail of Organic Farming: Prospects, Constraints, Opportunities and Strategies for Sustainable Agriculture in Chhattisgarh - A Review

The natural resource management and biodiversity conservation is a core principle of organic agriculture. During post independence, the most important challenge in country has been to produce enough food grain for the growing population. Hence, high-yielding production system contributing to concerns of soil health, agrosphere, environmental pollution, chemical fertilizers, agrochemicals and sustainability of agricultural production. This process involves the use of biological wastes (crop, animal and farm wastes, aquatic wastes), biological materials, avoiding synthetic substances to maintain soil fertility and ecological balance thereby minimizing environmental pollution. Organic farming is a farming system that involves growing and nurturing crops without the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Also, no genetically modified organisms are permitted. The primary ai...
