This study assessed the impact of social media marketing on small businesses in Lagos, Nigeria, w... more This study assessed the impact of social media marketing on small businesses in Lagos, Nigeria, with a focus on brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales growth. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research gathered survey data from 384 small business owners and conducted interviews with 30 key informants. Quantitative data were analyzed using regression models, while qualitative insights were examined through thematic analysis. Findings revealed that social media significantly boosts business growth, but challenges persist, such as inconsistent metrics for measuring success and the need for more localized strategies. The study recommends developing standardized metrics and creating tailored social media marketing approaches to address the unique business environment in Lagos. By tackling these challenges, this research provides valuable insights for small business owners and marketers aiming to optimize their social media strategies in similar contexts.

Succession planning is the transference of business control to a successor in a business establis... more Succession planning is the transference of business control to a successor in a business establishment. It is observed that small businesses which are mainstay of any developed economy contribute to creation of jobs and economic growth despite zero plans for succession on retirement or demise of business owners; this is a threat to business sustenance and continuity. Hence, this study examines the effect of succession planning on business continuity. This study employs a survey research design and simple random sampling to select three hundred and seventy-two (372) small businesses in Lagos state with three hundred and sixty (360) questionnaires returned as valid. Collated data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation was used to ascertain relationship among variables. This study concludes that a significant positive relationship exists between development and training, talent management, reward, and business continuity at r = 0.943, 0.874 and 0.720 respectively. It is recommended that; small business owners develop policies for succession planning to ensure business continuity, Lagos State Government through her agency, Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) should stipulate as a prerequisite for grant or loan application, the presentation of a business succession plan to guarantee business sustenance and also, Development and training plan should be part of organization culture, such that a subordinate and his supervisor can both identify training needs and take measures to fill in training gap accordingly. This will equip a subordinate in a small business to prepare for succession.

The study examined the nexus between pharmaceutical product efficacy and supply chain management ... more The study examined the nexus between pharmaceutical product efficacy and supply chain management in Nigeria using New Heights Pharmaceuticals as a case study.
The population of the study was three hundred and forty-three (343) staff of New-Height’s Pharmaceuticals (Lagos, Abuja, and Port-Harcourt) Nigeria. Raosoft sample size calculator was employed in generating a sample size of one hundred and seventy-two (172) from the target population, being the actual number of medical representatives directly involved in activities of managing supply chain and logistics in the organization. Primary data was generated using structured questionnaires. Correlation and descriptive Analyses were employed for the analysis of data. The strength of the relationship between variables was measured within the range of -1 and +1 using correlation.
Findings revealed that the standard deviation and mean of the relationship between storage and efficacy of pharmaceutical products is 0.729 and 4.47 respectively with a correlation coefficient of 0.841. Also, the standard deviation and mean of the relationship between transit conditions and potency of pharmaceutical products is 0.649 and 3.74 respectively with a correlation coefficient of 0.689. Lastly, the standard deviation and mean of the relationship between the Just-In-Time Inventory and the efficacy of the pharmaceutical product were 0.709 and 4.37 respectively, at a 0.820 correlation coefficient. The results revealed a positive relationship among the variables. It is recommended that Medical sales representatives in Nigeria who have to engage in product excursions and pharmaceutical outlets must be provided with efficient and reliable storage and transit facilities throughout the process of distribution.

The Igbo Model of Apprenticeship (IMA) is an indigenous business model practiced by Igbos in the Eastern part of Nigeria and adjudged to be the most enduring and biggest business model globally. Notable and successful Igbo entrepreneurs are emerging through IMA despite the volatility of Nigeria's business environment. Hence, this suggests that there must be some underlying principles that motivate the success of Igbo entrepreneurs in business which therefore occasion a pragmatic study of this nature. This study examined the effect of the Igbo model of the apprenticeship system on emerging entrepreneurs in Lagos State, Nigeria. The research design adopted was a survey with a population of 11,643 and a reduced sample size of 372
respondents using the Raosoft sample size calculator. The questionnaire was employed as a data collection instrument from the respondents. Cronbach alpha was deployed in testing for instrument reliability with 0.8%. Collated primary data was analyzed using Pearson correlation. The study discovered that mentoring has a significant effect on the Igbo apprentice The Igbo apprentice system will considerably reduce the pangs of unemployment if given attention in Lagos State, Nigeria. It is thus recommended that there should be youths’ exposure to mentoring in business and that a solution to reducing unemployment is the broad acceptance of Igbo’s system of Apprenticeship as it has a practical orientation rather than theoretical.

The extent of moral degeneration among young people in this century is concerning and may be link... more The extent of moral degeneration among young people in this century is concerning and may be linked to the parenting styles used to instill cultural values, which can significantly impact a child's behavior in society. Consequently, parents play a crucial role in fostering positive changes in their children. It is unclear when, from the early 20th century onward, societal and cultural values began shifting toward modernism and technological advancement, increasingly influencing contemporary society. This study examined how Permissive Parenting Style has
influenced the behavior of young people in Nigeria. A well-organized survey was employed to gather quantitative data, and correlation analysis was used to identify the relationship between permissive parenting and cultural norms and values. The findings revealed that permissive parenting is associated with improved attitudes and behavior in children. This is consistent with the correlation result, which shows a weak correlation between children’s freedom and permissive parenting attitudes
and behavior. Analyzing the link between indulgent parenting styles and societal cultural norms revealed a significant effect on permissive parenting. The result was statistically significant, with a p-value of 0.008, which is less than the conventional threshold of 0.05. This indicates that a unit change in societal norms and values is associated with a 20% increase in permissive parenting. Given these results, parents are encouraged to set appropriate boundaries, adopt a balanced parenting
style, and develop a healthy balance between permissiveness and discipline.

ChatGPT is a cutting-edge chatbot created by OpenAI that uses natural language processing to respond to user requests with "human-like" speech. Businesses all over the world are taking notice of it because of its robust capabilities, which have the possibility of helping automate a multitude of company procedures. The aim of the study is to identify the ChatGPT-Nexus, Perspectives and Praxis and investigate the concept's applicability to generative AI and HRM. This is to underscore and device remediation strategies with respect to likely difficulties in the broad use of ChatGPT in HRM. To stop unfair behaviors and ensure that employees are treated fairly, ethical issues like algorithmic bias and data privacy must be thoroughly examined. The methodology employed involves the use of qualitative paradigm involving the review of literature such as books, journals, publications, articles, online resources among others. The integrative literature review approach enables the researcher to conduct a critical assessment of AI technology vis-à-vis HRM. The study is anchored by one of the most widely accepted theories in human resource management-The Resource-Based View. The study predicts a significant decline in the likelihood of attaining a long-term competitive advantage through strategic Human Resource Management when considering the effects of widely used ChatGPT. The study's findings indicate that ChatGPT help team members communicate and work together more effectively by simplifying the understanding and tracking of project progress, processing and analyzing large amounts of text-based data, facilitating cross-cultural communication, and giving prompt, accurate answers to frequently asked questions. Hiring and recruiting are two critical HR processes towhich generative AI impacts immediate benefits.

Emission of Green House Gases (GHG) and other industrial pollutants like CO2, SO2 , NOx is one of... more Emission of Green House Gases (GHG) and other industrial pollutants like CO2, SO2 , NOx is one of the major issues in industrial sectors.This analysis report concludes that control of these gases is especially important using gasification technology to reduce both CO2 and non-CO2 greenhouse gases. Coal gasification found to have some environmental benefits relative to conventional mining including like reduced sulfur emissions, reduced discharge of ash, Hg and tar, and the additional benefit of carbon capture and sequestration. Gasification of carbonaceous industrial residues will contribute to both electricity and thermal applications in gas and oil industry. Fluidized bed gasification system facilitates Gas-solids reactions, catalytic and non-catalytic reactions, drying and in petroleum industries for hydrocarbon cracking and reforming. The objective of present work is to make a note on the critical importance of gasification techniques and gaseous product with controlled emission to safeguard the atmosphere.

The work answered the question of the influence of supply chain management practice on the performance of pharmaceutical companies in Lagos State, Nigeria, and by extrapolation, Nigeria as a whole and shed more light on the importance of logistic management in this sector. The population of this study included employees working in different sectors of pharmaceutical companies in Lagos State, Nigeria. All pharmaceutical companies with full operation in Lagos were included in the study's population, which were twenty (20) companies with an average staff of fifteen (15) employees. Two hundred and sixty-seven (267) members of staff were randomly selected and data was collected by administering questionnaires to staff of the selected pharmaceutical companies in Lagos State. The study adopted descriptive statistical techniques and the data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23 with the use of frequencies, tables, and percentages. Regression and correlation analysis were also performed on the data. The findings showed that logistics management and supply chain are important in the performance of pharmaceutical companies in Lagos State, Nigeria. The research concluded that seeking to maximize performance in complex and demand-driven supply chains requires managers to be innovative in approach, proactive in methods, detailed in risk assessment, and confident in self-ability. It is therefore recommended that pharmaceutical companies need to pay good attention to their logistics management and employ good policies in their logistics management that can enhance the supply of pharmaceutical products and lead to end-user satisfaction and total well-being. The work serves as a great tool for companies and governments as it gives a re-orientation to managers and policymakers to apply logistics management and supply chain for
enhancement of productivity in the health sector which is fundamental in economic

The brewing industry in South-Eastern Nigeria is faced with numerous challenges including a deart... more The brewing industry in South-Eastern Nigeria is faced with numerous challenges including a dearth of ethical leadership and difficulty in expanding operations in a highly competitive business environment. This study investigated the relationship between ethical leadership and organizational growth in the brewing industry. The study was guided by two research questions and two hypotheses that were assessed at the 0.05 level of significance. The research design employed in the study was correlational research design. 3,222 employees of the six brewing enterprises in South-Eastern Nigeria constituted the population of the study. Using Taro Yamane's (1967) method, 315 employees were drawn for the study. A structured questionnaire served as the data collection tool. Using Cronbach statistics, the questionnaire's reliability was assessed, yielding an alpha coefficient of 0.82. The assumptions were tested using a Pearson correlation critical value table, and the data was analyzed using the Pearson product moment correlation coefficient as a statistical metric. The study found a strong positive correlation between ethical leadership and organizational growth in the brewing industry in South-Eastern Nigeria. The result led to several recommendations, one of which was that ethical behavior should be prioritized and institutionalized at the leadership level and indeed all levels in the organizational hierarchy. This will significantly improve the growth potentials of companies in various industries as they strive to succeed in a highly competitive business environment.

Group discussions, ranging from employees of Fets International Limited, Opay International Limited, UBA, and Refuge homes, who were also IT experts in their various organisations. The responses were collected as data through Focused Group Discussions (FGD).
Findings revealed that artificial intelligence and employee
collaboration have continually improved business performance by
value addition and creating innovations to help develop new business
strategies for effective decision-making.
Organisations are advised to adopt collaborative intelligence as it has
unleashed technical solutions and improved efficiency in customer
service relations and productivity thereby improving business performance. Organisations are also advised to invest in practical
training to sustain a better collaboration of artificial intelligence and
employees in the workspace, as this would create new opportunities
for better decision-making, although it is argued that Artificial intelligence may introduce threats to job displacement, it is also appropriately capable of prompting interpersonal working collaboration with employees in a real-world working environment, to guarantee increased performance.

The rise of remote work has become a significant workplace trend particularly accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. By examining various factors such as productivity, job satisfaction, work-life balance and overall well-being, this study has provided valuable insights into the advantages and challenges associated with remote work arrangements. The methodology used in the study was Content analysis using Epistemological research design (underlying assumptions, theories and methods guiding the research process to shape the researcher's perspective on the topic). Constructivism and Interpretivism approaches were adopted. Secondary data was obtained from Google Scholar, Research gate, and other open Access sources, to locate relevant and current publications for analysis and interpretation. Publications from 2020 to 2023 on Remote work, Work-Life Balance, Employee Performance and Work Quality were considered as search variables. Findings of the study revealed that remote work improved the performance of employees during the COVID19 pandemic. In addition, preliminary observations suggested that the positive impact of remote work on employee performance extends beyond the immediate context of the COVID-19 pandemic, warranting further investigation into its long-term effects. Hence, this research has established a positive relationship between remote work and employee performance. The study recommended that Employees should get appropriate training to overcome the challenges of limited technological knowledge, mentors should be assigned to handhold them and provide assistance where necessary.

From the perspective of accomplishment of organizational goals, Human Resource Management (HRM) i... more From the perspective of accomplishment of organizational goals, Human Resource Management (HRM) is viewed as a collection of activities that benefit the firm and its entire entity and for workers regarding well-being and employment/contract arrangements in any given organization, whether it be in enterprise, service, industry, or governmental. HR operations have been impacted by the many ways in which enterprises have embraced digital innovations in the form of rapidity, precision, affordability, inventiveness, and adaptability. The study aims to investigate the changing role of HRM in the digital era, highlight the functions of human resources managers in modern businesses, and examine the effects of technological advancements on HR practices. In order to accomplish this aim, 83 articles from 65 journals are subjected to a content analysis and a qualitative literature review in the present study. The major results of the study show that digital employee management brings about positive significant effects through reduced expenses, improved HR process speed and quality, improved collaboration and confidence among HR stakeholders, higher strategic focus, etc. It also brings about negative factors comprising poor public acceptability, the risk to privacy, the destruction of personal connections, the reduction in the HR department size, or the HR staff overload with managerial, technological skills, and application-related activities that should not be ignored. In order to participate in the digital era, organizations should alter HRM and involve workers in the process. The study recommends that firms should build an HRM digital plan to ensure that the process of digitalization is well understood by all parties involved and that the anticipated impact, is clear and achievable.

This study examined logistics management, supply chain, and performance of pharmaceutical compani... more This study examined logistics management, supply chain, and performance of pharmaceutical companies in Lagos State, Nigeria. The work answered the question of the influence of supply chain management practice on the performance of pharmaceutical companies in Lagos State, Nigeria, and by extrapolation, Nigeria as a whole and shed more light on the importance of logistic management in this sector. The population of this study included employees working in different sectors of pharmaceutical companies in Lagos State, Nigeria. All pharmaceutical companies with full operation in Lagos were included in the study's population, which were twenty (20) companies with an average staff of fifteen (15) employees. Two hundred and sixty-seven (267) members of staff were randomly selected and data was collected by administering questionnaires to staff of the selected pharmaceutical companies in Lagos State. The study adopted descriptive statistical techniques and the data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23 with the use of frequencies, tables, and percentages. Regression and correlation analysis were also performed on the data. The findings showed that logistics management and supply chain are important in the performance of pharmaceutical companies in Lagos State, Nigeria. The research concluded that seeking to maximize performance in complex and demand-driven supply chains requires managers to be innovative in approach, proactive in methods, detailed in risk assessment, and confident in self-ability. It is therefore recommended that pharmaceutical companies need to pay good attention to their logistics management and employ good policies in their logistics management that can enhance the supply of pharmaceutical products and lead to end-user satisfaction and total well-being. The work serves as a great tool for companies and governments as it gives a re-orientation to managers and policymakers to apply logistics management and supply chain for
enhancement of productivity in the health sector which is fundamental in economic
growth and wellbeing of the citizenry.

The brewing industry in South-Eastern Nigeria is faced with numerous challenges including a deart... more The brewing industry in South-Eastern Nigeria is faced with numerous challenges including a dearth of ethical leadership and difficulty in expanding operations in a highly competitive business environment. This study investigated the relationship between ethical leadership and organizational growth in the brewing industry. The study was guided by two research questions and two hypotheses that were assessed at the 0.05 level of significance. The research design employed in the study was correlational research design. 3,222 employees of the six brewing enterprises in South-Eastern Nigeria constituted the population of the study. Using Taro Yamane's (1967) method, 315 employees were drawn for the study. A structured questionnaire served as the data collection tool. Using Cronbach statistics, the questionnaire's reliability was assessed, yielding an alpha coefficient of 0.82. The assumptions were tested using a Pearson correlation critical value table, and the data was analyzed using the Pearson product moment correlation coefficient as a statistical metric. The study found a strong positive correlation between ethical leadership and organizational growth in the brewing industry in South-Eastern Nigeria. The result led to several recommendations, one of which was that ethical behavior should be prioritized and institutionalized at the leadership level and indeed all levels in the organizational hierarchy. This will significantly improve the growth potentials of companies in various industries as they strive to succeed in a highly competitive business environment.

qualitative method was applied in conducting the research through the
formation of structured interview questions, passed across Focused
Group discussions, ranging from employees of Fets International Limited, Opay International Limited, UBA, and Refuge homes, who were also IT experts in their various organisations. The responses were collected as data through Focused Group Discussions (FGD).
Findings revealed that artificial intelligence and employee
collaboration have continually improved business performance by
value addition and creating innovations to help develop new business
strategies for effective decision-making.
Organisations are advised to adopt collaborative intelligence as it has
unleashed technical solutions and improved efficiency in customer
service relations and productivity thereby improving business performance. Organisations are also advised to invest in practical
training to sustain a better collaboration of artificial intelligence and
employees in the workspace, as this would create new opportunities
for better decision-making, although it is argued that Artificial intelligence may introduce threats to job displacement, it is also appropriately capable of prompting interpersonal working collaboration with employees in a real-world working environment, to guarantee increased performance.

The rise of remote work has become a significant workplace trend particularly accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. By examining various factors such as productivity, job satisfaction, work-life balance and overall well-being, this study has provided valuable insights into the advantages and challenges associated with remote work arrangements. The methodology used in the study was Content analysis using Epistemological research design (underlying assumptions, theories and methods guiding the research process to shape the researcher's perspective on the topic). Constructivism and Interpretivism approaches were adopted. Secondary data was obtained from Google Scholar, Research gate, and other open Access sources, to locate relevant and current publications for analysis and interpretation. Publications from 2020 to 2023 on Remote work, Work-Life Balance, Employee Performance and Work Quality were considered as search variables. Findings of the study revealed that remote work improved the performance of employees during the COVID19 pandemic. In addition, preliminary observations suggested that the positive impact of remote work on employee performance extends beyond the immediate context of the COVID-19 pandemic, warranting further investigation into its long-term effects. Hence, this research has established a positive relationship between remote work and employee performance. The study recommended that Employees should get appropriate training to overcome the challenges of limited technological knowledge, mentors should be assigned to handhold them and provide assistance where necessary.

From the perspective of accomplishment of organizational goals, Human Resource Management (HRM) i... more From the perspective of accomplishment of organizational goals, Human Resource Management (HRM) is viewed as a collection of activities that benefit the firm and its entire entity and for workers regarding well-being and employment/contract arrangements in any given organization, whether it be in enterprise, service, industry, or governmental. HR operations have been impacted by the many ways in which enterprises have embraced digital innovations in the form of rapidity, precision, affordability, inventiveness, and adaptability. The study aims to investigate the changing role of HRM in the digital era, highlight the functions of human resources managers in modern businesses, and examine the effects of technological advancements on HR practices. In order to accomplish this aim, 83 articles from 65 journals are subjected to a content analysis and a qualitative literature review in the present study. The major results of the study show that digital employee management brings about positive significant effects through reduced expenses, improved HR process speed and quality, improved collaboration and confidence among HR stakeholders, higher strategic focus, etc. It also brings about negative factors comprising poor public acceptability, the risk to privacy, the destruction of personal connections, the reduction in the HR department size, or the HR staff overload with managerial, technological skills, and application-related activities that should not be ignored. In order to participate in the digital era, organizations should alter HRM and involve workers in the process. The study recommends that firms should build an HRM digital plan to ensure that the process of digitalization is well understood by all parties involved and that the anticipated impact, is clear and achievable.
