This study's intent is to introduce a literature of qualitative approach, performed in the databa... more This study's intent is to introduce a literature of qualitative approach, performed in the databases of scientific literature: Scielo and Bireme, in the period 2009-2013. The theoretical was Mental Disorder (MD) and the Bearer of mental upset´s family (MUB), aimed to meet the family contribution in the treatment of MUB, as well as the main difficulties faced by family in the treatment of MUB. Data analysis was carried out in a qualitative and it involved the process of grouping data into Microsoft Excel tables, processed and analyzed in frames from critical reading and writing dialogic authors presented. This process highlighted the lessons learned by family members in relation to the MD and its treatment, the management of MUB. About the difficulties, it was observed that for both MUB and for his families, the MD causes great burdens to the family and the larger the monitoring by trained professionals and trained, the chances are greater of patients and family members cope with the situation, united and efficiently, in order to meet and help the MD, which meets the ideals of the Psychiatric Reform (PR).
