We interviewed 48 stroke patients in clinics and their private homes and found that many of them come up with their own personal assistive devices made at home or adapt existing objects to serve yet another function. We believe that by researching into these persons’ habits designers not only gain new insights about what it is to actually live with disabilities but also new ideas for new products and approaches to designing better assistive devices.

Experiments were performed according to a factorial experimental design. Fine and coarse particles showed different sensitivities to variations in the concentration of the reagent. Coarser particles showed a higher selectivity ratio and greater sensitivity to the addition of different reagent dosages, providing a more selective separation and a better quality product. Finer particles presented lower selectivity ratios, reflecting the difficulty involved in the concentration process with this particle size.
