Tracie Wilson, who assumed duties of Associate Director in August, boasts impressive credentials that span several disciplines. A political science graduate from Truman State University, she earned an MA in Russian and East European Studies at Indiana University and also obtained a PhD in Folklore and Ethnomusicology three years ago. Tracie’s research focuses on the interplay of globalization, local and national identity, and attitudes to the environment in Eastern Europe. She has won numerous honors and awards, including two Mellon travel grants and a FulbrightHays Dissertation Fellowship. She is no stranger to Illinois, having spent the fall 2006 semester at the university library as a Library Research and Publications Award holder. Tracie is fluent in Polish and she also speaks Czech and French. The atmosphere in the REEEC office is becoming increasingly, and appropriately, polyglot!
