Inverter can be broadly classified as two level inverter and multi level inverters. The multi level started with the three level converters. Minimum harmonic distortion is one of advantage of multilevel inverter. This paper deals with hardware design and analysis of three level diode clamped IGBT based inverter. The elementary concept of a multilevel converter is to achieve high power by using a series of a power semiconductor switches with lower voltage D.C source. The output voltage waveform of a multi-level inverter is comprises of the number of levels of voltages, typically obtained from capacitor voltage sources. In this paper, single phase diode clamp multilevel inverter topology is analyzed by employing SPWM technique which controls the switching operation with the help of Microcontroller programming and also the results are shown for the same. However, the passive filters have drawbacks such as fixed compensation, large size, and resonance. These limitations can be overcome by power electronics solution – active power filters. Compared with conventional passive filters, modern active power filters are superior in filtering performance, smaller in physical size and more flexible in application [1]. The active power filter detects harmonic information in non-linear load currents and actively injects counter harmonic currents to the grid so that the currents at Point of Common Coupling (PCC) approximate sinusoidal waveforms. Therefore, in this paper various time domain methods for harmonic detection are discussed and also the results are obtained. Further active filter current harmonics has been proposed.

Due to High power, high energy and long- term reliability feature of Supercapacitor, it can be use in various applications as backup power unit, auxiliary power unit, instantaneous power compensation, peak power compensation and energy storage as well. This paper presents the analysis and design of a supercapacitor and also examines the temperature effects on supercapacitors using a constant voltage source . Finally, simulation results are shown and analyzed.This paper presents an overview of supercapacitor showing their advantages as well as their potential applications.

To maintain the generation of electric power at adequate level the power has to be transmitted in proper form and quality to the consumer. Open access transmission has created a deregulated power market and brought new challenges to system planning. This paper proposes a new method to compute a probabilistic load flow in extensive power systems for the purpose of using it as a quick screening tool to determine the major investment on improving transmission system inadequacy. This research paper deals with the simulation of 132 kV substation in Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP) with detailed load flow analysis and also to overcome the problem of an under voltage. The results are based on actual data received from 132 kV Hingna II substation. Keyword— Load Flow,ETAP software, reactive power , Buses, voltage profile.
