However, there have been issues relating to promoting social housing in the Vietnamese context resulting from the property market and the design. The former is a failure to attract investors. The latter relates to lacking housing models for the mid- and low-income communities. Currently, many low-income families who have low access to the general job market in HCMC have to make a living by running their own business at home. This situation leads to low-income housing establishments in some residential areas. Thus, the planning approach in social housing needs to solve both the demand for low-cost housing and promoting self-employed activities. In this paper, mixed methods, including observation, questionnaires, interviews, data aggregation, and comparison, were conducted with supp...

Without a strong conceptual framework, it may be difficult for teacher educators to evaluate whether or not they are operating within a strong program. Thus, we frame this article as an opportunity to present one particular pre-existing framework in the research literature that can be used to conceptualize teacher education quality. We then present some evidence that supports and challenges this framework. In other words, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the conceptual framework for teacher education quality proposed by Hsieh, Law, Shy, Wang, Hsieh, and Tang (2011). In our attempt to create a supplementary evaluation of this conceptual framework, we test a statistical model using a different large international database – Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) 2013 (OECD, 2014). Specifically...

In urban planning, it helps to identify the emerging problems and solve the disorder of urban functions as in the megacity of Ho Chi Minh City. Rapid urbanization has increased the development footprint with disordered densities of building footprint, incomplete infrastructure and urban - peripheral instability. And it, then, caused more flood problems to the city. This study was based on applying fractal geometry, GIS on large-scale maps for identifying residential density based on urban morphology. The land-use map and the building footprints map of 2010 were integrated in fractal geometry to analyze the distribution of urban areas by the large scale of GIS data. This study showed HCMC had problems on irrational development in residential densities areas; and uneven development of population and residential density between the urban areas. At block scale of land-use block, in urba...

Time series Sentinel-2 Imagery—which presents the Normalized Different Vegetation Index (NDVI), obtained through the Google Earth Engine and Overlap Similarity Algorithm—was used to characterize vegetation cover in the study area. Furthermore, the Cohen’s Kappa agreement was applied to examine the accuracy of mangrove classification, and the Mann–Kendal (MK) significance was used to analyze the spatiotemporal trends of mangrove forests. The results showed that an NDVI value greater than 0.3 recorded the reflected signal of mangrove population in the study area with an O-index greater than 0.85. A Cohen’s Kappa statistic of agreement of 0.7 and an overall classification accuracy of 83% was obtained. Regarding the trend in mangrove forest patterns,...

It was found that feedback from administrators was not a significant predictor of teacher self-efficacy for instruction, whilst peer observation, job satisfaction, and work enjoyment were estimated as being significant predictors. The results of this study have implications for practice – specifically, how teachers and school leaders cultivate teachers’ self-efficacy for instruction – and future research.

The new species is close to R. similis, but is distinguished from R. similis by the position of the excretory pore located posterior to pharyngo-intestine junction (vs at level of pharyngo-intestine junction), oval shape sperm (vs rod-like), four incisures terminating far behind position of phasmid (vs three incisures terminating at or just behind phasmid), and bursa in male never reaching tail terminus (vs bursa reaching tail terminus). Females of R. duriophilus sp. n. differ from R. nativus females by stylet length (16.5-19 vs 19-23 μm), oval or kidney-shaped sperm (vs rod-like), four incisures at level of phasmid (vs three) and their areolated lateral field (vs not areolated). The position of excretory pore of both female and male is located posterior to pharyngo-intestine junction (vs at level or anterior to pharyngo-i...
