Booth algorithm is a multiplication algorithm that multiplies two signed binary numbers in two's complement notation. Multiplier is a fundamental component in general-purpose microprocessors and in digital signal processors. With advances in technology, researchers design multipliers which offer high speed, low power, and less area implementation. Booth multiplier algorithm is designed to reduce number of partial products as compared to conventional multiplier. The proposed design is simulated by using Verilog HDL in Quartus II and implemented in Cyclone II FPGA. The result shows that the average output delay is 20.78 ns. The whole design has been verified by gate level simulation.

The efficiency of the PV module will reduce the increasing temperature on the panel. Thus, the focus of this study is to improve the efficiency of the PV module by maintaining a low operating temperature. A modification on the rear part of the PV panel is executed by integrating the water-cooling system by using copper pipe. This study is conducted to compare the effects of the PV panel when it is tested in different circumstances, such as with and without water-cooling system as well as a variation of water flow rates at constant solar irradiance. Comparative analyses are performed by conducting I-V and P-V curve as well as temperature test where both tests take these different conditions into account. The study exhibits that the utilisation of water-cooling system will result to a reduced rear temperature of the PV panel. The efficiency of the PV panel ...

This has become a major concern on air quality, especially indoor air quality. The chemical compounds found in the building have limited exchange of outdoor and indoor, which results in building of contaminants such as CO2 emitted by occupants activity in the building. The usage of air conditioner is unable to removes pathogens because its only circulates in air within the area. Medical Centre has a very high potential to centralize the patient with diseases related to health problems such as asthma, respiratory and cardiovascular related-diseases. This study is conducted at medical centre of NDUM, in Kuala Lumpur. The number of patients admitted was compared to the level of CO2, temperature and relative humidity in the Medical Centre. The outdoor air index is collected from DOE Malaysia. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is used in this system as it can collect and disseminate the environmental d...

This paper presents the investigations on EMI shielding effectiveness of multilayer carbon fiber composites for architectural shielding purposes. The properties of carbon fiber such as high thermal conductivity, corrosion resistant, high tensile strength and excellent EMI shielding property make it suitable to be applied in building construction. The concrete samples with insertion of carbon fiber sheets were undergone the EMI penetration test which is based on IEEE standard testing procedures. These customized structures are proven to reduce signal penetration significantly in the high frequency range up to 2 GHz.

Diabetes is one of metabolic diseases where a patient has high blood sugar either caused by the body failure to produce enough insulin or the cells failure to respond to the produced insulin. Diabetes can be identified by studying on several readings taken from a patient ...

To utilize the scattered-bend effect for displacement measurement, a side coupling technique can be used by twisting a pair of POF fibers and bent the structure into a loop. The working principle of the sensor is quite simple. The bent radius grows smaller as the fiber draughts which simulate a change of displacement. The scattered-bend loss increases as the illuminating fiber is bent in decreasing angle and the light being coupled to the receiving fiber. The fabricated sensor is tested based on static measurement analysis and the sensor is characterized by its sensitivity, resolution, linearity, and repeatability error. From the experiment, the fabricated sensor has a range of roughly 160 mm with a sensitivity of 0.817 nW/mm, a resolution of 1.228 mm, and a repeatability error of 1.856 %. The sensor exhibits high linearity from 0 mm to 80 mm. The sensor's design structure and analysis are simple, comprehensive, and cost-effective, with potential benefits in industrial applications.

The basic concept of SFC is by detecting any changing of strains, then converting the strain to the voltage signal and converting the voltage signal to the frequency signal. This tool consists of 3 main components which are strain gauge, differential integrator and comparator. This paper presents the designing and analysis of monolithic integrator that to be used in the Strain-to-Frequency converter. The primary goal is to design and simulate the performance of monolithic integrator for SFC using GATEWAY Silvaco Electronic Design Automation (S EDA) tools and EXPERT software. The performances of SFC using the designed monolithic integrator are also investigated.
