We used four types of trawls,horizontaland verticalgillnets,conventionalelectrofishing and electrofishing with a push net,cove rotenone,and bag seine.Trawling was ineffective forsampling juvenilestripedbass (<30 cm totallength)and white bass (<15 cm) . Stripedbass CPUE data were most precisefor offshoreand nearshore floatinggillnets,and leastpreciseforpush-net electrofishing .Floatinggillnetsalsoprovided relativelypreciseCPUE estimatesforwhite bass.
