A ?7th-century name-stone, decorated with an incised lorgnette cross, can be paralleled at Lindis... more A ?7th-century name-stone, decorated with an incised lorgnette cross, can be paralleled at Lindisfarne. It is apparently unfinished but the stone was later re-used and the reverse carries a cruciform motif carved in relief. There is also a discussion of the inscription and decoration of a second Billingham grave-marker now in the British Museum. R N B
