La presente linea de investigacion intenta plasmar en forma resumida las actividades que se estan... more La presente linea de investigacion intenta plasmar en forma resumida las actividades que se estan realizando en el marco de dos proyectos de investigacion acreditados en la Universidad Nacional del Noroeste de la provincia de Buenos Aires que abordan la problematica descripta anteriormente. Entre otras cosas se evaluan herramientas didacticas actuales utilizadas en el sistema formal de educacion secundaria y a partir de alli se plantean diferentes estrategias para el aprovechamiento de saberes previos en el uso de tecnologia.

The inclusion of Information Communication Technologies (ICT) in education is something that has ... more The inclusion of Information Communication Technologies (ICT) in education is something that has been working from different initiatives worldwide. Concern is on how these resources can enhance the teaching-learning process. Video games are an alternative, given that they present an opportunity to work on different themes in a motivating way. Children and young people can access the different contents by critically analyzing the information presented and acting accordingly. The video game Raíces is an innovative tool in social sciences, offering a ludic environment, making the learning process more attractive and motivating than with traditional methods. This article describes the experience of using Raíces in the primary school classroom. We hope that Raíces will help to spread knowledge and to become aware of the problems of native people, seeking to strengthen the conception of Argentina as a multiethnic country.

Since 2007, the Computer Science School of the National University of La Plata (Buenos Aires, Arg... more Since 2007, the Computer Science School of the National University of La Plata (Buenos Aires, Argentina) has been involved in extension projects related to social and environmental issues, where students of the Computer Science degrees are called upon to participate and collaborate actively. At the beginning, we started working on the project called Reduciendo la Brecha Digital en Sectores Desfavorecidos de la Sociedad (Reducing the Digital Divide in Underprivileged Sectors of Society), where students and teachers went voluntarily to diners in order to teach Computer Science to children and adolescents of limited resources. We approach this from two teaching perspectives: training the students in basic PC operation concepts and teaching them to use a computer as a learning tool for other disciplines. In Argentina, the incorporation of ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) to the class... more In Argentina, the incorporation of ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) to the classrooms is mani-fested in many different ways. In most of the cases, it is present when teaching of tools and products which are mainly oriented to Offimatics and Internet access. Although these tools are extremely necessary in today's world, they themselves are not sufficient to stimulate the interest of the students in ICTs. The schools that teach program-ming generally do so by means of traditional techniques, such as procedural languages, like Pascal or C, or event oriented visual languages, such as Visual Basic. This article presents a proposal to bring the new technologies to the classroom in an untraditional way. It consists of using personal robots for the resolution of problems by means of the development of algorithms written in Python. The robots which would be used have sensors and a digital camera, by means of which they allow to manipulate and program dynamic trajectories...

Resumen La cátedra "Proyecto de Software" es una materia donde los alumnos desarrollan ... more Resumen La cátedra "Proyecto de Software" es una materia donde los alumnos desarrollan aplicaciones web usando PHP. Cuenta con un promedio de 180 alumnos por año y, por la etapa de la carrera donde se encuentra, muchos de ellos trabajan. Esta cátedra abarca una gran cantidad de temas que se abordan en forma práctica desarrollando trabajos. Dadas estas particularidades, desde hace cuatro años se utilizan herramientas de e-learning como apoyo a las clases presenciales, y desde el año pasado herramientas para el manejo de versiones a fin de organizar las entregas de los trabajos prácticos y agilizar el proceso de corrección. El objetivo del presente artículo es presentar la experiencia en el uso de algunas herramientas de código abierto durante el dictado de la materia Proyecto de Software.
