This study aimed to assess the prevalence of stress among teachers of the secondary school of Ouagadougou and identify the associated factors of stress among teachers of the secondary school of Ouagadougou. Methods. We conducted a cross-sectional study with secondary teachers in Ouagadougou. Fimian's teacher stress inventory was used to evaluate teacher stress levels. We used a logistical regression to identify stress-related factors in teachers. Results. Four hundred and thirty-nine teachers were involved. Their mean age was 43.58 years. They had on average a weekly hourly volume of 19.35 hours. They had been teaching for 15.61 years on average. The teachers who used psychoactives substances represented 34.85%, those who had medical condition represented 37.13%. The prevalence of work related stress among teacher was 16.4 %. Medical conditions (OR adjusted =2.06, p=0.012), the weekly hourly volume of more than 22 hours (OR ajusted=1.92, p=0.024) raised the risk of work related stress of teachers. In contrast, the leisures were a protector factor (OR adjusted =0.31, p=0.020). Conclusion. The prevalence of work related stress among secondary school teacher was high. Medical conditions, weekly hourly volume of more than 22 hours were identified as risk factors but leisures were identified as protector factor.

We report in this work, two clinical cases that confirm the richness of clinical manifestations and sometimes the delay to diagnosis in our socio-cultural context. These were two 52-year-old and 48-year-old patients with psychomotor agitation syndrome, severe anxiety, and delusional persecution syndrome, all of which occurred on goiter. In both cases, the thyroid assessment showed a collapsed TSH and elevated thyroid hormones, confirming the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism. The evolution was favorable under synthetic antithyroid and neuroleptics. Both patients subsequently benefited from subtotal thyroidectomy with simple operative follow-up. Multidisciplinary care, psychiatry and internal medicine were provided in both cases.

The first military women have joined the army from 2007 onwards. This integration into this previously male environment exposes women to specific psychological difficulties. The objective of this survey was to study the psychosocial risks (PSR) incurred by female military personnel of the army in Burkina Faso, and to identify the factors associated with these risks. It was a descriptive cross-sectional and once-through analytical study that ran from March 8, 2016 to May 9, 2016. During the study period, 195 female military members from all departments and services of the National armed forces, mostly young, were investigated. The main factors associated with psychosocial risks were seniority in the profession, rank, service constraints, lack of independence, and interpersonal relationships. PSR (Psycho-Social Risks) have deleterious effects on the psychological health, motivation and job performance of female staff. At the end of our study, it seems necessary to set up a program to fight against the PSR incurred by this female staff in the National Army of Burkina Faso.
