This study 90 people between the ages of 18-23 participated. They were randomly divided into 3 groups as control, unilateral and bilateral vagus nerve stimulation (VSS). Cycling exercise was performed with maximum performance for 30 minutes under the same wattage load. Pulse, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, distance, pain, fatigue, lactic acid level and autonomic nervous system were evaluated before, after and at the end of the cycling exercise. In the comparison made within the group, there was a statistically significant difference between the data in all groups except for the distance covered parameter (p<0.05). When we compare the groups, in addition to the distance traveled in all groups, there is no statistically significant difference in the 1st day 1st measurement or 2nd measurement data of all parameters (p>0.05). When we compared the data according to the days, there was a statistically significant difference only between the pain and fatigue levels (p<0.05). When we compared the groups, it was found that bilateral VSS had favorable results compared to other applications. When we evaluated the data on a daily basis, similar results were obtained. We are of the opinion that it will be of maximum benefit for the athlete to be applied, especially during and after the half-time of the competition.

The destructions experienced are not always equally distributed to the whole society and sectors. In addition to affecting the whole world after the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, its effects were felt most intensely on the health sector and its employees, and the health workers showed the greatest dedication and sacrifice to cope with this disaster. In this study, it is aimed to develop a valid and reliable scale in order to measure the sacrifices of healthcare workers who serve under severe conditions such as high-risk work, overtime hours, and compulsory service during the COVID-19 period. With the help of open-ended questions prepared for this purpose, online interviews were conducted with 9 healthcare professionals. The obtained qualitative data were transformed into measurable scale items and their internal reliability, criterion validity and factor structure were examined on a sample of 138 people. Participants were reached by convenience sampling method. According to the results of the factor analysis, it was found that the scale had a one-dimensional structure. As a result of factor analysis, two items were excluded because their factor loads were below 0.30. The nine-item scale explains 67% of the total variance. The Cronbach's Alpha value of the total scale was found to be 0.929. In conclusion, the findings obtained in this study show that the Patient Sacrifice Scale during the COVID-19 Epidemic is a valid and reliable scale whose psychometric properties have been empirically tested in a Turkish sample.

The research was designed in the correlational model. The universe of the study consists of 2430 undergraduate students studying in the field of Emergency Aid and Disaster Management in Turkey. The convenient sampling method, one of the nonrandom sampling methods, was used as a sample in the study. In this context, the study was conducted with 517 (21.27%) students who were accessible and agreed to participate in the study. Demographic information form, general disaster preparedness belief scale and short psychological resilience scales were used as data collection tools. Cronbach's alpha analysis was used to determine the reliability of the scales, and Sperman's correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between the scales and sub-dimensions. Participation in the study was 155 (32.2%) students and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University students participated the most. The Shapiro-Wilk test was used to determine whether the data showed normal distribution in the analysis. During the analysis of the data, the descriptive features such as total number, minimum, maximum, mean, standard deviation and median values were given. As a result of the analyzes, it was seen that the total and sub-dimensions of the disaster preparedness belief scale had a positive and significant relationship with psychological resilience. However, it was determined that perceived seriousness and psychological resilience had a significant negative relationship. Accordingly, the high level of general disaster preparedness belief in Emergency Aid and Disaster Management students affects their psychology positively. However, as their severity increases, their psychology is negatively affected.
