The paper is based on following research methods: literature review, case-study analysis (organizational research), structurized interviews, observation of processes during management consultancy and training of private and public sector organizations. Quality of life - achievements of personal satisfaction lays far back in the history. Many "books of quality" - like Gospel, Koran, Talmud and other were key sources that formed the model of life's quality and the ways of it's implementation. Then it is logical that universities and schools were formed by groups of people who had certain model and level of belief. The aim of the research, carried out in Lithuania, was to evaluate corporate social responsibilit... more The aim of the research, carried out in Lithuania, was to evaluate corporate social responsibility (CSR) relations to business indices at the national level. The evaluation covers CSR mean values from year 2000, and it is sought to elucidate their impact on the main business indices on the national level. The research methodology covers statistical analysis, scientific literature, normative document analysis, other studies. A better condition of CSR was estimated in Lithuania. Here, CSR covers the analyzed factors. The corruption index is improving a bit; there are more organizations that have environmental protection, occupational safety and health, and social responsibility systems. There is strong correlation between the environmental management system certificates and export. It can be explained by the fart that the implementation of environmental standards is tied to the growth of GDP. By implementing such standards, an organization induces foreign partners to trust it. The aim of the paper is to review the Lisbon criteria that are influencing business in Lithuania,... more The aim of the paper is to review the Lisbon criteria that are influencing business in Lithuania, and to outline the main perspectives of national businesses in the EU context. To this end, we have analyzed earlier works on the factors and parameters that influence business environment in the EU, compiled a list of most crucial factors influencing the business entities, interviewed the top management of 300 top Lithuanian companies in order to find out the peculiarities of the Lithuanian way to success in business. Managers' opinions were compared to facts stated in internal documents (especially documents containing market requirements) as to quality and price; internal costs and efficiency of processes. The following methods of research were employed: metaanalysis, documentation review, triangulation, interviews, basic methods of mathematical statistics.

Traditionally, research and researchers are evaluated by means of the ‘scientific impact ’ of research output, i.e. publications in peer-review journals. However, strong critical discourse arise about aforementioned traditional system which cannot judge the “merit ” of a paper or predict its impact in the social context. The political decisions strongly obligate to develop ways to value and draw attention to the importance of societal impact of science. The article authors call for discussion to conceptualize impact of research attributing with indicators of quality of life of individuals and communities. The challenges of the late modernity society encourage universities to reconsider relationship between research and studies. One such advanced technology is Robotic Process Automation (RPA). However, organisations do not always make the progress by using the RPA to increase the efficiency of their business processes. The scientific sources lack the synthesis of Process Management (PM) and RPA and insights into their interrelationship. This article aims to fill the gap in the systematic analysis of interrelations between PM and RPA from a managerial perspective by identifying less researched areas and formulating insights and recommendations for future research.
