The paper could be an example of interdisciplinary approach, regarding the study and conservation... more The paper could be an example of interdisciplinary approach, regarding the study and conservation-restoration of five bronze objects from the Halstatt B3 period. They all belong to the History Museum collections of the Brukenthal National Museum from Sibiu. To establish the diagnosis, several examinations have been made with SEM, XRF, XR radiographies and microchemical analysis, in the country and abroad. There were identified the metal, patina and corosion products' composition, but also working techniques. The five pieces are in a final stage of physical deterioration including rifts, cracks, microcracks under the noble patina layer and some missing parts. The corrosion processes are stable, except for a fragment where it was identified copper clorides.

Sibiu, este o piesă arheologică unicat, fiind menţionată în numeroase lucrări atât în ţară cât şi în străinatate. Datarea coifului a fost stabilită pentru perioada Hallstatt AI, între 700 -450 î. Ch. Cu numărul de inventar A. 4685111992, coiful a fost păstrat o perioadă îndelungată în depozitele Muzeului de Istorie al Muzeului Brukenthal din Sibiu. în anii '80, prin reorganizarea expoziţiei de bază a muzeului, s-a hotarât şi expunerea coifului. Conform metodologiei muzeologice din ţara noastră care prevede ca toate obiectele ce se expun să fie într-o stare de conservare bună, s-a propus o examinare interdisciplinară a coifului. în urma cercetării arheologilor, a observaţiilor conservatorului de colecţie precum şi ale restauratorului de metale de la Laboratorul Zonal de Restaurare şi Conservare al muzeului mai sus menţionat, s-a constatat starea avansată de degradare fizică şi chimică a coifului, stare c...

This volume is a compilation of documents issued by the main international organizations in the f... more This volume is a compilation of documents issued by the main international organizations in the field of conservation and restoration of movable cultural heritage as well as by professional organizations from several countries with extensive experience in the field.
This compilation, according to our informations, is currently unique both in our country and internationally, so it should be an important reference in the development of legislative-normative documents in the field, in order to align with current professional standards.
We presented the documents in one or more languages, in order to be able to compare the specialized terms. Some of the documents are also translated into Romanian.
The definitions, terminology and Codes of Ethics that underlie the activities and professions in the field are the backbone of everything that means heritage conservation and restoration.
2020 being an anniversary year, 45 years since the establishment of the “Romanian System for Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage”, we have included in the volume a short history in which we mentioned the main legislative-normative, organizational-functional and professional elements, their evolution until in 1989 and then for the last 30 years.
At the same time, the Zonal Restoration Laboratory of the National Museum of Banat has the same anniversary, which had a prodigious activity in the 45 years of operation, saving tens of thousands of objects from the National Cultural Heritage.
At the end we present the project of a "Center for Conservation, Restoration and Systemic Research of Cultural Heritage", developed at the Zonal Restoration Laboratory of the National Museum of Banat, since 2009.
We hope that our approach, the result of a systematic documentation, over several decades, will be useful to our colleagues as well as to all those who are interested in the field of conservation and restoration of Cultural Heritage.
Conservators, Restorers and Investigators, specialists and experts thanks to whom cultural assets are saved and their existence is extended for future generations, deserve all the consideration and recognition for their unique work dedicated to the National Cultural Heritage.
