The design is basedon a monolithic, bipolar technologywith 5 Mrad radiationhardness. The intrinsic low noise< 600 e rats and low power consumption60 mwatt of this device at room temperaturemakeit an attractivefront-end preampfor either warm or cryogenicliquid media detectors,or even for tetrodesfor scintillating fiber technology. Measurementsare reportedon aprototypedevicebuilt in an industrialBiFET processwith a 37 nsecrisetime. Workshopon Calorimetryfor the SuperconductingSuperCollider Tuscaloosa, Alabama,March 13-17, 1989
Design and Development of a User Based Secure File System for Linux Using Fuse

These security provisions can be bypassed if another operating system is used on the same personal computer. To address this problem, file encryptors, disk encryptors and file system encryptors were developed, each with its drawbacks. By combining the strengths of file encryptors and file system encryptors, these drawbacks can be overcome. To achieve this, a user space file system library must be used. The file system must also have its own authentication and authorization routines to provide uniform access across multiple operating systems. This paper describes the design and development of such a file system for Linux using the FUSE library and the OpenSSL library. The design for this file system was mathematically modelled and formally verified using Alloy analyser. The file system requires the user to provide user name and password for aut...

Its output is a perfectly amplified version of its input and its does not produce any harmonic frequencies. A practical RF power amplifier is composed of RF transistors which are non-linear devices .It is the nonlinear behaviour of transistors that gives rise to harmoncis at the output. In a RF transmitter or receiver there are two phenomena that we observe which make the RF amplifier non-linear. The amplifier transfer function is highly dependent on frequency of operation in both magnitude and phase. The amplifier gain is a nonlinear function of the input voltage. Due to non-linear behviour of amplifiers, the input information in two input frequencies is output as the sum and difference of the two input frequencies. Hence, if two frequencies are applied at the amplifier input the amplifier output contains other unwanted frequencies which are linear combinations of the original input frequencies Linearization refers to a m...

The frequency translation devices of today suffer from the primary drawback in that the non-removal of the image frequency can potentially render the actual IF signal to be undetectable. The second drawback is an enhanced mixer noise due to the usage of active devices can impair the performance of the overall RF receiver. This work takes a critical look at future evolution of mixers with inherent image rejection for wideband wireless communication, limitations of present technology of mixers in terms of noise figure and image rejection, and an examination of current mixer technology. The present work addresses system level issues including design aspects and flexibility of mixers, design optimization and simulation of a two stage image reject mixer targeted at a bandwidth between 1 GHz and 10 GHz. Novel mixer architecture has been designed and simulated to work up to 10GHz. Due to the demanding requiremen...

Analytical expressions have been derived in this paper for the variation of Lock time with respect to Phase Margin and lock time with respect to its damping coefficient. Analytical expressions are derived for the jitter variance with respect to the phase margin of a second-order PLL. Analytical expressions are also derived for the derivative of jitter variance of a second-order PLL with respect to its phase margin. The jitter variance is plotted separately for time varying part of the jitter variance and time invariant part pf the jitter variance.
With unprecedented growth of the subscribers in modern cellular and wireless data communications,... more With unprecedented growth of the subscribers in modern cellular and wireless data communications, there is an acute scarcity of additional bandwidth to meet the ever growing demand. To ease the constraint of additional bandwidth, utilization of the existing system has been a topic of recent interest. Cognitive Radio is a new technique in which the spectral holes in unutilized spectrum are determined to be used for instantaneous communication by secondary users. The Cognitive Radio determines the occupancy of the frequency spectrum observed over a time interval by spectrum sensing methods. Spectrum sensing forms a key front end block of Cognitive Radio systems. This paper deals with the design and simulation of the spectrum sensing algorithm for Cognitive Radio under low SNR scenario. The Energy Based Spectrum Sensing (EBSS) technique has been identified for its relatively simple implementation. However in the published literature on EBSS, the procedure for the Threshold Energy compu...
