The sample consisted of 300 students (150 males and 150 females) from the college of education, Kuwait University. They ranged in age from 18 to 27 (M = 19.51, SD= 1.77) An academic procrastination scale was developed by the author and used for the collection of data. The results showed that the overall mean of academic procrastination of the whole sample reached 3.68 which means that the participants in the study exhibited high procrastination tendency. The results also indicated significant gender differences among males and females on academic procrastination.Male students procrastinate more than female students. The results further showed that high level procrastinators tend to achieve low academic achievement than lower level procrastinators, and therefore the academic procrastination is related to lower levels of academic achievement. The findings were discussed in the light of the relevant literature and some suggestions for further studies were formulated.

Participants were recruited from three master programs: foundations of education (n=21), curriculum and method of teaching (29), and Administration and educational planning (18). Their moral reasoning was measured by the Defining Issues Test (DIT). The results indicate that the sample scored lower in principled moral reasoning than graduate students in general. However, they scored predominantly at stage 4 in Kohlberg's moral judgment theory. Results also indicate that there are no significant differences in principled moral reasoning of the participants according to their academic disciplines.

The Cambridge Companion to Piaget

One formulation of this is the problem of “understanding how human societies have come to constitute and recognize law, that is, to construct rules that the social group considers valid and obligatory” (Piaget, 1977/1995, p. 159; see Chapter 3, this volume). The fact that this problem still tends to be neglected gives Piaget's work continuing relevance. Piaget dealt with issues in 1932 that are present in current debates, and he offers an approach that is still missing in psychology. Although it is assumed that Kohlberg built on and extended Piaget's initial work, in fact Kohlberg rejected critical aspects of Piaget's approach, which resulted in problems not present in Piaget's own approach. I introduce Piaget's approach to moral development in the context of his general epistemological approach and discuss the development of children's understanding and use of rules in the context of different social relationships and other aspects of children's practical moral activity such as their understanding of lying and justice. Finally, I consider the implications of Piaget's views for current approaches to moral development.
