The primary focus was on the primary and secondary school education systems in the country. Using the lenses of the social exclusion concepts, the chapter looked at how the inequalities are informed by a chain of historical developments including colonialism, the effects of the Structural Adjustment Programmes of the 1990s, and the effects of the Fast Track Land Reform Programme, as well as the Indigenization and Economic Empowerment acts. The chapter submits that the children in urban high-density areas, farming, and rural areas are victims of structural inequalities that have led to social exclusion in the education sector. There is the need for the Government of Zimbabwe to address these inequalities as a matter of urgency.

Various conflict resolution mechanisms were put in place to resolve the conflicts which included the Gukurahundi atrocities of the early 1980s and the 2008 election conflicts. Although the conflict resolution mechanisms had limited success they lacked a comprehensive and inclusive approach. Using Lederach's Holistic Peacebuilding approach the paper explores the need for the establishment of a comprehensive peace infrastructure in Zimbabwe. The creation of an infrastructure for peace will provide a platform for cooperation among stakeholders to bring peace to a country where conflict fault-lines are present at all levels of society. The argument is in line with African Union and United Nations Resolutions which call for African countries to establish national frameworks for the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts. The major argument of the paper is that without a comprehensive peace infrastructure which has at its core in Local Peace Committees Zimbabwe will find it difficult to move from a state of peacelessness to one characterized by positive peace.

Parents directly intervene in pupils' conflict and can indirectly influence gender considerations, religion and the extended family interrelationship matrix. The peer influence of adolescence is extensively divorced from parents' factor. Although parents shape gender and religion considerations, individual pupils use them to shape future conflict responses independent to parents. Diversity in factors influencing conflict responses is becoming more pronounced due to media influence and the guidance and counselling offered in schools and the researchers recommend a more diverse conflict resolution partnership including parents in shaping conflict responses of pupils at school. The researchers believe that collaboration between parents and teachers can bring about peace oriented conflict responses in school.

The efforts to deal with the problem have had little effect and this has affected the game negatively in many aspects. Through a participatory action research design the study sought to explore the nature, causes, and effects of the violence. The study also sought to establish how the spectators could be engaged in the efforts to reduce the violence. ABSTRACT Introduction Community-based rehabilitation (CBR) is an inclusive development strategy i... more ABSTRACT
Introduction
Community-based rehabilitation (CBR) is an inclusive development strategy implemented in the communities for and by persons with disabilities, their communities as well as other stakeholders. In a world with more than 1 billion people (15%) with some form of disability, even though there is CBR, it is reported extensively that they are excluded from education, health, employment and other developmental aspects of society. This exclusion is contrary to the essence of the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. A review of literature however points out that, purposively instituted community based development programs that are all inclusive, community based rehabilitation being one of them, there will be an increase of the persons with disabilities included in community development initiatives.
Methodology
A multi-stage sampling method was used to identify both the participants and stakeholders for this study. It was conducted mainly by using quantitative methods with qualitative aspects to a lesser extend. Overall 76 questionnaires were completed with 44 being completed by persons with disabilities (or their proxies) and 32 being completed by the CBR secondary stakeholders. Data was collected and analysed. The study assessed the effectiveness of CBR as an approach focused on inclusive community based development as guided by the 5 domains of the CBR Matrix namely, health, education, social participation, livelihood and empowerment.
Results
The study showed that the majority of persons with disabilities have generally increased participation the 5 domains of the CBR Matrix. It showed that due to involvement with CBR, the persons with disabilities have better understanding of their health issues as well as increased participation in livelihood, social domain and empowerment programmes and increased access to health and education services. It however showed that, despite the reported positive effect value of CBR, there still challenges and areas that need significant improvements to ensure sustainability of the initiative.
