Complete dislocation of the mandibular condyle can occur in anterior, posterior, lateral and superior direction. Among these dislocations, bilateral superolateral dislocation of mandibular condyles is quite rare and often misdiagnosed. Because of its rare occurrence and unusual clinical course, the best treatment is debatable. Patients and Method We present the first case series of true bilateral superolateral dislocation of intact mandibular condyles (Type 2B) without fracturing the Zygomatic arch, associated with symphysis fracture. Conclusion This article intends to provide information regarding the possible biomechanics and management of bilateral superolateral dislocation of mandibular condyles associated with symphysis fracture.

Above all, the education system suffered a significant setback. Most of schools and colleges were forced to shut, for almost two years. In this study we investigate the perceptions of dental students towards the online mode of teaching by close ended questionnaire survey in dental colleges. Aim: To study the perception of dental students towards online teaching and to give recommendation based on our study findings. Materials and Methods: A questionnaire based Cross sectional study was conducted in dental undergraduates from 2016 to 2020 batch in Dental Colleges & hospital of Chhattisgarh for period of one month using convenience sampling in order to evaluate perceptions of dental students towards online mode of teaching. Results: Student's perception was evaluated using a close ended questionnaire. Majority agreed on grounds like online teaching is more interactive (50.2%), more comfortable (37.8%), enhanced their technological skill (41.5%) and received support and resources from respective teachers (53.2%). On the other hand, students were having trouble to concentrate for longer time (63.6%), learning practical's online (60.8%), poor internet connection (70.5%) and family distraction (44.2%). Conclusion: We need to accentuate ways to integrate this online teaching with traditional method of teaching, this can open new vistas for better teaching opportunities worldwide.

Although several ways of managing PHN have been propounded, none could evince a definite gratifying effect. This article intends to succinctly delve into the etiopathogenesis, clinical features and management of PHN.

The aim of the study was to identify the prevalence of the oral premalignant and malignant lesions in patients with a history of oral habits and to identify the relationship between the habit and development of lesion. To achieve the study aims, a prospective study involving 200 patients with oral mucosal lesions were selected. A male predominance with the habits of Gutkha and betel quid chewing predominated among the patient population. Oral carcinoma constituted the maximum number of cases. The buccal mucosa was the most commonly involved site. It can be observed through this study that, oral habits pertaining to tobacco, arecanut chewing contribute significantly to the development of dysplastic changes in the oral mucosa either as an independent habit or as a mixed habit.

Introduction Sebaceous gland carcinoma of the eyelid is an uncommon but highly malignant tumour. ... more Introduction Sebaceous gland carcinoma of the eyelid is an uncommon but highly malignant tumour. Post-tumour excisional defect reconstruction must aim in restoration of function and aesthetics. Prompt diagnosis and adequate treatment is of paramount for successful outcome of disease. Case Report A 61-year-old female patient underwent surgery for sebaceous gland carcinoma of right lower eyelid 3 years back and reported to us with recurrence. On examination, an exophytic mass was seen over right conjunctiva adjacent to the eyelid margin. With the objective of restoring form and aesthetics, immediate reconstruction was carried out using superiorly pedicled nasolabial flap to cover the lower eyelid defect and non-vascularised buccal mucosal flap for bulbar and palpebral conjunctival reconstruction. Conclusion The tumour is notorious to cause local recurrence and metastases; hence, an early and accurate diagnosis, surgical and adjunctive chemoradiation and regular periodic follow-ups are of utmost importance for the successful management of sebaceous gland carcinoma of eyelids.

The purpose of the study is to analyze if there is a need to discontinue low dose antiplatelet therapy before dental extraction. Methodology: The study samples consisted of 25 patients receiving 100 milligrams of aspirin daily and were scheduled to undergo dental extractions. Each patient acted as a control for himself, wherein an extraction was performed on a patient when aspirin was not discontinued and a second extraction after discontinuing aspirin for 72 hours prior the procedure. The bleeding time, clotting time, platelet count and INR were measured preoperatively at both the appointments and the amount of blood loss during the procedure was assessed. Results: The mean blood loss at the first appointment for the patients was 5.78 ml while it was 1.18 ml at the second appointment. The difference was statistically significant with a t – value of 3.2. However, the blood loss in patients during the first appointment was easily managed using local hemostatic measures which prevent any grave bleeding complication. Conclusion: From the observation in this study it can be stated that the low dose aspirin therapy can be continued prior to extraction procedure in the oral cavity without the fear of excessive intra-operative and post-operative bleeding. Key words: Cardiovascular Disease, Aspirin, Tooth Extraction, Blood Loss
