Im P3 Projekt wurde ein Feld mit Parabolrinnenkollektoren aufgestellt, das mittels der sogenannte... more Im P3 Projekt wurde ein Feld mit Parabolrinnenkollektoren aufgestellt, das mittels der sogenannten Direktverdampfung Sattdampf für eine Produktionsanlage bereitstellt. Durch den direkten Anschluss an die Dampfschiene konnte das Solarsystem vergleichsweise einfach nachgerüstet werden. Erste Tests zeigen eine unproblematisches Anlagenverhalten.

The invention relates to a novel process for the production of electrical energy and heat in an a... more The invention relates to a novel process for the production of electrical energy and heat in an apparatus consisting of a high-temperature fuel cell and a gas turbine, the gas turbine operates with a stationary ambient pressure combustion chamber. This has the advantage that the fuel cell does not have to be pressure-resistant designed. Therefore, the gas turbine relaxes her supplied gas introduced into a negative pressure while the compressor sucks in this gas, under vacuum, and re-compressed to ambient pressure. Under ambient pressure slightly elevated pressures are also against the ambient pressure to approximately 2 bar included. A turbine downstream of the recuperator transmits the heat of the exhaust of the turbine to the supplied to the fuel cell supply air, which is sufficiently preheated. A junction of this line with preheated fresh air is supplied directly to the exhaust stream of the fuel cell, so that a variable regulation of the residual fuel concentration can be carrie...

Dies liegt an wachsenden Komfortansprüchen, Zunahme von Wärmequellen innerhalb von Gebäuden (elektrische Geräte, Computer), architektonischen Trends und nicht zu letzt an der Zunahme der Außen temperaturen im Sommer. Die sommerliche Klimatisierung von Gebäuden erzeugt einen steigenden Energiebedarf, der heute fast ausschließlich durch Strom gedeckt wird. Die Nutzung von solarthermisch angetriebenen Klima tisierungsverfahren ist eine viel versprechende Möglichkeit, um den Strombedarf für die Klima tisierung zu reduzieren.

High temperature fuel cells are considered a promising option for highly efficient distributed po... more High temperature fuel cells are considered a promising option for highly efficient distributed power generation. This paper presents a dynamic model of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) system. Detailed models for all process components were developed and validated with experimental data, which is demonstrated using the burner model as an example. Focus of this paper is on SOFC system heat-up. Different strategies are discussed, and dynamic simulation results of heat-up processes are shown.

An aluminium upgrading process will be supplied by steam directly generated in parabolic trough c... more An aluminium upgrading process will be supplied by steam directly generated in parabolic trough collectors. In this first of it's kind installation in an industrial environment, steam at 4 bar will be fed into the existing distribution lines of the production to heat anodizing baths and storage tanks. The integration of the solar steam through separate heat exchangers in parallel to the existing system was also considered. In principle, due to the low temperatures of the baths, solar hot water systems could be integrated in the same way. However, the additional heat exchangers and pipelines between the solar system and the consuming process generate significant investment cost on top of the solar system. The selected integration of the solar steam generator in parallel to the existing boiler reduces the complexity of the system, saves cost by avoiding duplication of piping and heat exchangers, and provides flexibility in the operation to ensure security of supply and maximum use of available solar energy.

In the Mediterranean country Turkey, like in other sunny countries, almost every hotel, hospital ... more In the Mediterranean country Turkey, like in other sunny countries, almost every hotel, hospital and other public facilities need air-conditioning during the summer period. Therefore a very high power requirement is necessary, because most of the up to date air-conditionings with coolant are provided by electric powered compression chillers. Based on the fact that solar radiation appears at the same time as the need of air conditioning, you can assume that cooling systems with double effect absorption chillers combined with parabolic trough collectors can be driven more suitable and more intelligent than conventional systems.
