This study compares the financial performance of banks over a 3-year period before and following the introduction of IFRS, using a sample of all 22 banks listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. To address endogeneity and unobserved heterogeneity problems, the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) is adopted. This study reveals that the implementation of IFRS has a favorable and considerable effect on the performance of the banks. CSR has a substantial impact on ROE but has a relatively smaller effect on ROA. We discovered that the performance indicators, such as BV and EPS, have little bearing on stock return of firms in the banking sectors. The MV of stock has dropped with the increasing standard of financial reporting, but the effect of COVID-19 cannot be ignored. The ...

A total of 237 bank employees (74.3% male and 25.7% female) from different commercial banks participated in the survey. In order to collect data on stress and burnout a self-reported questionnaire was administered to bank employees. Descriptive, correlation and regression statistical tools were used to analyze data. The results identified that workload, working hours, technological problem at work, inadequate salary, time for family and job worries at home are the significant sources of stress in the banking sector. The significant symptoms of burnout as revealed by the results are back pain, extreme tiredness, headache and sleep disturbance. All stressors (Organization, Job, Relationship at work, work environment and family work interface) are significantly correlated to all burnouts (Physical, Psychological and Organizational). All the stress elements significantly predicted burnout in the banking sector of Pakistan. The changing work pattern is creating stress for the bank employees and these stressors are leading to burnout. These results are consistent with the emergent evidence of the impact of stress on the burnout.

Pakistan has been experiencing unusual and divergent political scenarios. Sometimes so-called political system starts running the affairs of country and most of times military rulers have been in power. The study analyses the privatization and efficiency of firms during the era of 1990 to 2007. The time span from 1990 to 1998 is considered one era that is the era of democratic rulers and from 2000 to 2007 second era where there was military rule. Under this scenario, seven variables like profitability, efficiency, employment, leverage, capital investment, operating efficiency and output are taken for analysis. Wilcoxan rank test is used to compare the two eras. All the variables showed significant relationship using z-stat. Overall ten firms are analyzed in the study. All the firms are privatized through IPO.

In recent years, organizations have witnessed most important changes in their organizational structure and design. Such changes triggered work environment in which employees feel low level of sense of community. As a result, organizations face problems in building suitable work community among co-workers and an environment where employees can exhibit their overall capacity (Brandt, 1996; Driver, 2005). Petchsawanga and Duchan (2012) identified that workplace spirituality focuses on different activities at work considering meaningfulness, personal development, joy at work, compassion, trust, commitment, honesty and well-being of employees. Similarly, Ashmos and Duchon (2000) revealed that inner life, meaningful work and sense of community are three important constructs of workplace spirituality. Scholars of past empirical studies indicate that workplace spirituality, generally known as spirituality at workplace, is brought into practice through different programs by many successful organizations e.g.

The study also aims to investigate the differential effects of CFSC across financially-constrained and unconstrained-firms and across firms having high and low-Tobin's Q. The study uses GMM model on unbalanced firm-level data of all manufacturing firms listed at the Pakistan Stock Exchange over the period 2000-2014. A well-organized structured questionnaire was distributed among the customers of Automobile industry. The questionnaire was based on 5 Point likert-type scale. Results show that the customer expectations have a direct positive impact on perceived value and an indirect impact on customer satisfaction. The study also finds that to satisfy the customers, customer's education plays an important and positive role. Furthermore, the study finds a negative relationship between customer trust and customer loyalty. It is probably due to Pakistani culture in which the customers cannot fully trust the firm. Additionally, it is suggested that the ECSI model should be modified because customer education and trust are not present in the present model. In this regard, further research is required. Finally the study suggests that there should b...
