A total of eight patients, four females and four males, in the age group of 18 to 65 years, with bilateral buccal grade II furcation defects in the mandibular molars, participated in the study. THE FOLLOWING CLINICAL MEASUREMENTS WERE RECORDED AT BASELINE AS WELL AS THREE AND SIX MONTHS POST SURGERY: The Turesky-Gilmore-Glickman modification of the Quigley Hein plaque index, the Loe and Silness gingival index, Relative Clinical Attachment Level Vertical Probing Depth in the mid-furcation area, and Horizontal Probing Depth in the mid-furcation area. Pairwise comparisons within the groups were done by applying the independent student t test. Comparisons were also drawn between the test and the control groups by applying the independent student t test. The mean gain in the relative clinical attachment levels in the test and control groups, at the end of six months, were 2.50 and 1.63 mm, respectively. The mean change in the horizontal probing depth values at the end of six months in the test and control groups were 2.88 and 1.63 mm, respectively. The mean reduction in the vertical probing depth values in the test and control groups were 1.50 and 1.38 mm, respectively. The resorbable GTR membrane with bone material was more effective than open debridement alone, in the treatment of furcation defects.

However, regular checkups and good dental health habits can help keep you and your baby healthy. A gestural woman requires various levels of support throughout this me, such as medical monitoring or intervener, preventive care and physical and emotional assistance. Getting a checkup during pregnancy is harmless and significant for your dental health. Not only can you take care of cleanings and procedures like cavity fillings before your baby is born, but your dentist can help you with any pregnancy-related dental symptoms you might be experiencing. A study was done on 50 pregnant women for a period of 9 months to understand the dental problems they face and the concerns they have for visiting a dentist. A performer was given to them during 6 weeks, 12 weeks, 20 weeks and 30 weeks of pregnancy. They had to choose the problems related to teeth which occur...

Exacerbating this problem, some children are described by their parent as a picky eater with behaviors such as eating limited food and unwillingness to try new foods. Timely intervention can help prevent nutritional decline and promote growth recovery; oral nutritional supplements (ONS) and dietary counseling (DC) are commonly used. The present study aimed to determine the effects of ONS along with DC on growth in comparison with the effects of DC only. Enrolled children (N = 321) were >24 to ≤48 months old, at malnutrition risk (weight-for-height percentile 3rd to 15th), and described as a picky eater by their parent. Enrollees were randomized to one of the three groups (N = 107 per group): ONS1 + DC; ONS2 + DC; and DC only. From day 1 to day 90, study findings showed significant increases in weight-for-height p...

Objective was to investigate the effect of two oral nutritional supplements (ONS) along with dietary counseling (DC) vs DC alone on growth among picky eating children from India, aged > 24 m to ≤ 48 m over 90 days. Methods Study recruited 321 children [n = 107/grp] in ages mentioned above from urban/semi-urban India with a weight-for-height between 3rd–15th centile (WHO 2006) and picky eating behaviors. Subjects in the 2 EXP GRPS received a daily supplement of one of the two similar ONS [Pediasure (PDS) & Pediasure Advance (PDS Adv)} along with DC for 90 days, whereas subjects in CON received only DC. Children in both EXP GRPS consumed min of 1 & max to 2 servings of ONS/day & there were 5 study visits (Day 1, 7, 30, 60, 90). Primary variable was the change in WHO weight-for-height centile from Day 1 to 90. Secondary var...

A cross-sectional study was carried out to develop age-and sex-specific norms for EFs using the Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function-Preschool Version (BRIEF-P) among 2-to 5-year-olds from urban Bangalore, India. In addition, the association between EFs and anthropometric measures, a marker of nutritional status, is also examined. Primary caregivers of 412 children, equally distributed by age and sex, participated. Raw scores for each domain and indices were converted to standard t-scores and percentiles were computed. A t-score at or above 63 corresponding to the 90th percentile was considered as the cutoff for executive dysfunction in this sample. The prevalence of executive dysfunction is 10% based on the Global Executive Composite score of the BRIEF-P. The cutoff score for identifying executive dysfunction using existing United States (US) norms is higher compared to the cutoff score obtained in the current study. Therefore, using US norms for Indian children could result in the prevalence of executive dysfunction been underestimated. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that stunted and underweight children have significantly elevated EF scores after adjusting for age, sex and socioeconomic status (SES; p < .01). A greater understanding of EFs in preschool children is important for the early identification of executive dysfunction and implementing interventions to improve their future prospects. This study also shows that undernourished children are more likely to have executive dysfunction.

A cross-sectional study was done to develop age specific norms for developmental milestones using Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales (VABS-II) (Sparrow, Cicchetti, & Balla, 2005) for apparently healthy children from 2 to 5 years from urban Bangalore, India, and to examine its association with anthropometric measures. Mothers (or caregivers) of 412 children participated in the study. Age-specific norms using inferential norming method and adaptive levels for all domains and subdomains were derived. Low adaptive level, also called delayed developmental milestone, was observed in 2.3% of the children, specifically 2.7% in motor and daily living skills and 2.4% in communication skills. When these children were assessed on the existing U.S. norms, there was a significant overestimation of delayed development in socialization and motor skills, whereas delay in communication and daily living skills were underestimated (all p Ͻ .01). Multiple linear regression revealed that stunted and underweight children had significantly lower developmental scores for communication and motor skills compared with normal children ( coefficient ranges from 2.6-5.3; all p Ͻ .01). In the absence of Indian normative data for VABS-II in preschool children, the prevalence of developmental delay could either be under-or overestimated using Western norms. Thus, locally referenced norms are critical for reliable assessments of development in children. Stunted and underweight children are more likely to have poorer developmental scores compared with healthy children.

Schools and colleges in India have a different pattern of education where one cannot physically attend classes but has to attend classes virtually, a new problem occurs. here we will analyze some issues like internet connectivity problems and basic understanding of technology and other such problems, to understand the problem more closely we make Google form and conduct survey and interact with 160 approx. The results of the study stated that most people faced internet problems and did not have the knowledge to use and solve problems related to technology.
