One‐pot synthesis of 1‐([6‐bromo‐2‐hydroxy‐naphthalen‐1‐yl]‐aryl‐phenyl)methyl)‐3‐chloro‐4‐(aryl‐... more One‐pot synthesis of 1‐([6‐bromo‐2‐hydroxy‐naphthalen‐1‐yl]‐aryl‐phenyl)methyl)‐3‐chloro‐4‐(aryl‐phenyl)azetidin‐2‐ones has been reported in the present research work via Staudinger [2 + 2] ketene‐imine cycloaddition reaction pathway. The reaction of 1‐((Benzylideneamino)(aryl)methyl)‐6‐bromo‐naphthalen‐2‐ols with chloroacetic acid and triethylamine afforded 1‐([6‐bromo‐2‐hydroxynaphthalen‐1‐yl]aryl‐phenyl)methyl)‐3‐chloro‐4‐(aryl‐phenyl)azetidin‐2‐ones. For the structural elucidation of series of compounds, different analytical and spectroscopic techniques such as elemental analysis, IR spectra, 1H‐NMR spectra and mass spectra were used. All the newly synthesized compounds were tested for their anti‐bacterial activity studies. It revealed that some of the compounds possesses moderate to good activities as compared to standard drugs. The widest spectrum of anti‐bacterial activities against both gram‐positive and gram‐negative bacterial strains among the examined compounds possessed having more hydroxyl group along with β‐lactam ring compared to other substituted azetidinones.

The concept of “Smart Classroom” square measures a progressive methodology of education, that serves students to develop higher conceptions, educational achievements, improved reading skills, etc. (www.vkmaheshwari.com/WP/?p=2352). The traditional approach of giving lectures and taking notes have lost its effectiveness in the modern day around education. In efforts to grow academics, it must be considered that differentiated modalities of teaching and learning are necessary for better conceptual development. It is the responsibility of the education system to use this sort of ideas to comprehend student interests and orchestrating educational progression throughout childhood and adolescence. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has changed from being a technology of information & communication to a curriculum creation and transmission system for learners. Wit...

This paper reports density and speed of sound data for solutions of the ionic liquids (ILs) [C 4 ... more This paper reports density and speed of sound data for solutions of the ionic liquids (ILs) [C 4 mim]Cl and [C 4 mim][CF 3 SO 3 ] in aqueous solution of 0.05 w/w amino acids of alanine, serine and proline at T = (288.15, 298.15, 308.15 and 318.15) K. From the experimental data measured, the apparent molar volume (V ϕ), isentropic compressibility (K S), and apparent molar isentropic compression (K Ø) have been calculated. The V ϕ values of [C 4 mim]Cl and [C 4 mim][CF 3 SO 3 ] in the investigated aqueous amino acid solutions decreased by increasing the hydrophobicity of the amino acid and follow the order: serine ˃ alanine ˃ proline. The apparent molar volume and isentropic compressibility values at infinite dilution of the investigated ILs in the aqueous amino acid solutions and their variations with temperature have been determined. The infinite dilution apparent molar volume and adiabatic compressibility for transfer of the studied ILs from water to aqueous solutions of the amino acids have been calculated and the results were discussed in terms of different interactions existing in these solutions.

The experimental values of densities (q), speeds of sound (u) and relative viscosities (g r) of p... more The experimental values of densities (q), speeds of sound (u) and relative viscosities (g r) of piperazine citrate in aqueous solution and in 0.06 molÁkg À1 of sodium chloride and D-glucose as a function of concentration have been obtained at T=K = (293.15, 303.15 and 313.15). The thermodynamic parameters such as apparent molar volume ðV / Þ of solute, isentropic compressibility ðj s Þ, apparent molar isentropic compressibility ðj / Þ of solute, piperazine citrate in water and in aqueous solutions of sodium chloride and D-glucose have been computed using the density and speed of sound data. The limiting apparent molar volume of solute ðV 0 / Þ, limiting apparent molar compressibility ðj 0 / Þ in binary and ternary solution have been obtained using apparent molar volume and apparent molar compressibility data. The limiting apparent molar expansivity ðE 0 / Þ of solute and thermal expansion coefficient ða Ã Þ in both aqueous binary and ternary solutions has been computed. Transfer volumes ðD tr V 0 / Þ and transfer compressibilities ðD tr j 0 / Þ of piperazine citrate from water to aqueous solutions of sodium chloride and D-glucose at different temperatures have been obtained. The Jones-Dole viscosity coefficients A, B, D, variation of viscosity B coefficient with temperature i.e. dB=dT; hydration number for aqueous solutions of piperazine citrate and in aqueous solutions of sodium chloride and D-glucose have been determined. The above parameters have been used to throw light on the various interactions occurring between binary and ternary systems.

The apparent molar volumes (V ϕ) along with apparent molar isentropic compressibilities (κ ϕ) of ... more The apparent molar volumes (V ϕ) along with apparent molar isentropic compressibilities (κ ϕ) of aqueous solutions of the amphiphilic drugs namely amantadine hydrochloride and semicarbazide hydrochloride have been determined from density and ultrasound data at T = (288.15, 293.15, 298.15, 303.15 and 308.15) K. The critical micelle concentration along with the free energy change (ΔG m 0), enthalpy change (ΔH m 0) and (T•ΔS m 0) of micellization was obtained for the aqueous binary mixtures of drugs. The volume changes due to micellization (ΔV ϕ m) were also estimated for both the studied drugs at different temperatures. Negative deviation from the Debye-Hückel limiting law of the apparent molal volume was obtained for water + amantadine hydrochloride system while positive deviation was observed in the case of water + semicarbazide hydrochloride system. The aggregation number (n) for the studied drugs in the aqueous environment has been also determined at 298.15 K. The results obtained at different temperatures have been interpreted in terms of drug-water interactions and solute-solute interactions which seem to depend upon the structural features of the solute molecule and also on the surrounding environment of drug molecules.
