Johansen and Juselius method is used to test the cointegration between the variables. Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) is employed to determine the direction of the causality between production and price of rice, as well as between the production of rice and the area cultivated in the short and long run. The analysis of the results shows that there is a cointegration among the variables, and the direction of the relationship is a directional move from cultivated area to production of rice, and from price to production of rice in the short and long run. The study recommends to expand the cultivated area along with maintaining the farm and not to converted to other crops, in addition of determining the purchase price of the crop at the beginning of the agricultural season to ensure a good income for farmers in order to motivate them to increase production.

Ratio of narrow money to GDP, ratio of broad money to GDP, the ratio of 3 M to GDP, the ratio of Quasi money to GDP, the ratio of total deposit to GDP, and the ratio of private sector credit to GDP used as a proxy of financial development, while the real per capita GDP used as a proxy of the economic growth. Co-integreation test indicates that there is no-long run between economic growth and financial development, whereas the Granger causality test based on Unrestricted Vector autoregressive (VAR) indicates that there is a bi-directional causality between GDP / 2 M , GDP / 3 M and economic growth, whereas, there is no relationship between economic growth and other indicators of financial development in the short run. Iraq is heavily dependent on the oil export, government policy must be directed to diversifying the economy through expansion to other sectors (e.g., agriculture, industry and tourism), which will engender the growth of the development sector, which will in turn boost economic growth.

This empirical study depicts a holistic view, comprising inputs, the process, and outputs of the educational supply chain. Educational management represents the process component, which may be accomplished in three levels, including strategic, planning and operating levels. The exploratory research provides educational management a new dimension to understand how supply chain management contributes to successful university operations. This conceptual framework provides two main contributions including human resource contribution and research contribution to the end customer, i.e. the society.

The results show that Perodua is more preferable to older person compared to foreign automobiles. In addition, Proton and Perodua appear to cater to those with lower income while foreign automobile appears to cater to higher income. Based on the results, local car producers should concentrate on the market for older persons and affordability in order to compete with foreign automobiles. JEL Classification: C25, D12.

However, this sector’s growth in Iraq is facing difficulties considering the decline of agricultural capital stock and its reliance on government investment, which is insufficient. Therefore, it requires activating investment in the agricultural sector. Agricultural investment is affected by many determinants that prevent its development. This study aims to investigate the determinants of investment in Iraq such as the rate of inflation, corruption, and agricultural gross domestic production (GDP) for the period 2004Q1-2019Q4. The Autoregressive Distributed Lag Model (ARDL) is used to investigate the study parameters. The results indicated a significant impact of corruption, inflation, and agricultural GDP on Iraq’s agricultural investment in the long run. A 1% decrease in the inflation rate leads to an increase in agricultural investment by 50%. An increase in agricultura...

Iraq is in the top list of the most corrupt countries. Therefore, investigating the causes of corruption and combating it, is the objective for all decision-makers in this country. This study aims to present an equilibrium relationship between the currency auction and corruption in Iraq for the period (2004-2018) in the short and long run. To achieve this objective, Co-integration and VECM methods were used. The results indicate that the currency auction is a gateway to corruption where the currency auction explains almost half of the changes in the corruption, and there is an equilibrium relationship between these variables in the long run. Accordingly, currency auction should be eliminated and be used only in exceptional cases. It is necessary to coordinate between economic policies to develop a strategy of action by the Central Bank ...

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was employed with alternative models, namely, CRS-I, CRS-O, VRS-I, and VRS-O. The number of enrolled students, lecturers, employees, and teaching assistants were used as inputs, while the number of students with bachelor’s degree and published research in national and international journals were used as outputs. The results indicate that 58% of the colleges reached their optimum economic size according to the efficiency scale since these colleges reached full efficiency. The college of Nursing is a peer college for inefficient colleges. To achieve full efficiency, there must be either significant reductions in their inputs with the same amount of output (input oriented) or significant increases in output retaining the current amount of inputs (output oriented). In general, the efficiency score of University of Al-Qadisiyah indicate...

Using a sample of 478 automobile owners in Malaysia, a discrete choice analysis is conducted based on the conditional logit model. In general, it is found that the own-price effect on Proton (Perodua) cars is negatively related to a specific Proton (Perodua) model; in contrast, the cross-price effect on Proton (Perodua) cars is positively related to a specific Perodua (Proton) model. Of the nine models evaluated, three of them show a significant overlapping market segment. This finding implies that Proton and Perodua should differentiate these products further to lessen competition between them.

Several techniques including co-integration, forecasting variance error decomposition, and impulse response function are employed. The results indicate that corruption is influenced by political stability, voice and accountability, and regulatory quality in both the short and long runs. The relative contribution of the change in regulatory quality to the change in corruption is weak, implying that there are weaknesses in laws, regulations and transparent legislation that determine the relationship between the state and the society and guarantee the integrity and rights of individuals. Therefore, fighting corruption needs to be an integral part of a comprehensive institutional and organizational reform strategy. This study is an important incentive for governments and global development organizations to improve governance performance to combat corruption. These governments may need external assistance that could be offered by the international development organizations to improve their indicators of good governance of corruption curb if Arab governments are not prepared to improve citizens' participation in this field.
