This study examined why females work in travel agency in India and what type of difficulties they... more This study examined why females work in travel agency in India and what type of difficulties they expression when working in these organizations. Having proper training and education in tourism, high interest in the industry, and enjoyment of working in tourism were the most important reasons for the contestants to work in tourism organizations. The study results further expose that female employees in India choose to work in travel agency because of the intrinsic value of the jobs such as image, the pleasant and better working conditions. The researches results provide of this study imply that female employees working in travel agency in India are satisfied with working in this industry.

Advertising is thus not a panacea that can restore a poor product or rejuvenate a declining market rather it is a tool that helps in selling new ideas, products and services through the art and strategy of persuasive communication. In our everyday life we are buying and consuming a variety of goods, services and ideas. However,... more In our everyday life we are buying and consuming a variety of goods, services and ideas. However, we have different tastes, likes and adopt different behavior pattern while making purchase decision. The consumer behavior is concerned with consumer's buying behavior rather than actual consumption. Brand preferences are usually studied by attempting to profile and understand loyal consumers. This paper presents a study of changes in brand preferences. Theory and research is used to propose and test a model based on the proposition that changes in brand preferences and their development are the result of life events that serve as markers of life transitions. Changes are viewed to be the result of adjustments to new life conditions and changes in consumption lifestyles that reflect consumer efforts to cope with stressful life changes. The data support these notions and suggest implications for consumer research.

The paper discusses the dynamics of transformational and transactional leadership styles of faculties using secondary data. The paper explores theoretical debates on leadership in academic institutions. Transformational leadership inspires faculties to achieve their full potential and integrate personal goals with organizational goals. Transformational leadership characteristics lead to extra effort by faculty and higher level of job satisfaction. Highly transactional, contractual organizational culture and bureaucracies are characterized as attending more to self interest than to the interest of the organization. Laissez faire leadership style has negative correlation with follower satisfaction and follower extra effort. Integrating programs such as seminars, workshops and updates on school administration and leadership can sharpen the skills of institutional leaders on the job.

In the last two decades, an important new therapeutic delivery system has been emerging to serve the needs of the workforce, known as Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). EAP is an emerging issue in India. After introduction of new economic policies in last decades the new industries & commercial organizations including MNCs are fastly coming up in India. Since view of EAP are quite similar and close to social work professional it provides preventive therapeutic and developmental services. Establishing EAP services in the industry will not only help the employees, but it also makes good financial sense because quality workmanship and higher employee morale will result in higher profiles.

India has the one of the largest system of higher education in the world with 33,023 institutes (UGC,2012) compared with 6,742 in the US and 4,297 in China(FICCI, E&Y Report, 2011). However in terms of quality only one Indian university, IIT Bombay (317th rank) appear in top 400 universities of the world according to Times Higher Education 2012. Several committees and experts have argued that affiliation system needs to be reformed to reduce the burden on affiliating universities and improve quality. Reforming affiliation system requires an alternative which promotes autonomy, innovation, and better management. The paper concludes with recommendations for promoting clusters, information and communication technology (ICT), reducing political influence, autonomous colleges and streamlining regulatory framework.
