Arterial hypertension is a modifiable risk factor for the development of life-threatening cardiovascular complications. Early diagnosis and optimal treatment are the key to success in the fight against this pathology. Aim. To analyze the knowledge of senior medical students from different regions in the basic issues of hypertension. Materials and methods. The article presents the results of the first stage of the multicenter PHYSTARH study (the full name of the project is Physicians and undergraduates knowledge in arterial hypertension treatment). An anonymous questionnaire (pharmacoepidemiological survey) was conducted among 314 senior medical students from 6 cities of Russia and Ukraine. Results. The study revealed the average level of senior students knowledge. The average level of correct answers to the questions in the first part of the questionnaire was 49.4%. The minimum level of correct answers was obtained in the questions of determining hypertension by the valu...

Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) remains one of the most acute problems of bronchopulmonary pathology being the 4th in the mortality structure (after cardiovascular, cerebrovascular diseases and malignant neoplasms) and the 1st among all fatalities from infectious diseases. Thanks to the scientific progress achieved in the antibiotic therapy and vaccine prophylaxis, the death toll has decreased four times compared to its rate during the “pre-antibiotic era“. However, nowadays there is a steadily increasing trend in the pneumonia mortality rate in Russia. The only possible way to increase efficacy of CAP treatment is timely initiated rational antibiotic therapy, considering the possible etiologies, risk factors and the severity of the patient’s condition. Materials and methods. The article represents the results of anonymous prospective surveys within the framework of the KNOCAP multi-centered research project aimed at accessing the knowledge on the fundamental issues...

Study population: 20 pts with COPD A-B (13 males (65%), were studied over a 6-month treatment period. Mild age 49,02+11,32 year, duration of COPD 13,03+4,76. 1st gr.(10 pts) – combined therapy with F (160 mg/day) and F+I (200+80 mcg dayly). 2nd gr. (10 pts) – only F+I (400+160 mcg/day). Methods: the quality of life (QOL) was evaluated using the SGRQ. Functional status was accessed by pulmonary function test (PFT) and pneumotonometria, 6MWD test and Borg dyspnea scale. All studies as well as the SGRQ underwent again under the same condition in 6-months later. Results: significant increase was observed in all of the SGRQ domains in 1st gr (p<0,01).
